I love what this says, by the way (I know it sounds like I'm gloating or something, and I suppose I am, in a way) but yeah, how it's for equal rights and not for women>men superiority, if that makes any sense atall.
No?
Then I'll just go away

The tragedy is that there is a girl in my college who's known for her misandrist ways of "feminism" and she's giving a lot of the feminists, like myself, in our college a bad name. I'm actually embarrassed because of it because, as a feminist, I want equality among genders, races and sexual preferences, but I feel like we're never going to get there with all the extremes we have to deal with.

Unfortunately, we live in a time where people equate Feminism and Feminazi as the same thing with only the argument of 'All them feminist want to take away men's rights' as an excuse as to WHY they think this. I'm not in any feminist groups, both IRL or online but I hate to see the terms and the point of Feminism and Feminist being misinterpreted like this because people who won't take the time to look for themselves the real point which is all the more ironic when they have every online research tool at their hands to look shit up.

The problem is that the Feminist movement is SO identified with Femnazism that I think the movement needs a new name, like...I dunno...Equality movement, and include everyone who wants equality between the genders?

That's not the fault of the Feminist though but rather how some people were so easy to swallow the thought that all Feminist were the Feminazi label that a lot of people put on the group.

I can't honestly understand what you're trying to say due to that run on sentence but I'll do my best.

No, Femnazis exist because you are always going to have extremes no matter what group you belong to. Animal rights groups have PETA, for example, which is fucking crazy. Likewise, Feminists have to deal with batshit Femnazis ruining their image. Most people do unfortunately associate all Feminists with Femnazis because they are the loudest and most irrational of the group, not because it's easy. And that is why I am an equalist instead.

I always found the term "feminazi" stupid because Nazis did not like feminists and put them in concentration camps. (Along with other women they considered"anti-social".)

But yay for equality!

I love feminists, because they can treat men and women equally, but I highly DESPISE feminazis, because they think that women can do everything better than men can, and they think that men are all "villains". Both men and women are humans, so if women can do good stuff, so can men.

Awesome stamp! I favorited this!

After a wille she was called to a bbc or nbc show, duno whice.
The whole audienc was laughin about it. They ware laughin thet she choped it of... And no one complained. O.o

On the flip side, if a man did thet kind of thing to a women and was aired on a show there wuled be a shitstorm... Talk about equalioty.

Honestly, with the number of places in the world where a woman can be legally beaten to death for touching a man's hand while getting correct change the world needs a few more feminazi's. The women of Saudi Arabia are never going to get equal rights by hiding behind Burkas and doing everything they're supposed to do. Some rocking of the boat is needed worldwide.

Except that feminist aren't doing anything in the middle east, so essentially your statement is a false dichotomy. Whats more as sexist as those countries are you can't force them to conform to your views. They have to come to it on there own. They have to want it & they have too know why they want it & western feminism doesn't do anything for that... So essentially your feminist views from the western world are old, defunct & no longer have a reason to exist. Feminism is being replaced by Equalism (people who want actual equality, instead of a flim flam pretense at equality, while actually only giving counter sexism) & rightly so.

Master-of-the-Boot In reply to matthew-lane [2011-03-08 07:28:20 +0000 UTC]

There are feminists in the middle east. They're risking their lives trying to get girls to be literate and getting them schooled. In places like Iraq and other spots, women run the risk of death for doing this. Hell, they even run the risk of death by not wearing a head scarf.

In the developed, "enlightened" world, women still face many barriers to equality. In the United states, women make up 24 percent of national legislators. In Rwanda the percentage is 46 percent. Now isn't that a bit sad? The world's greatest democracy is struggling with feminism more in some ways than backwards Rwanda?

Also, explain why that among the ceo's of the largest and most successful companies, only fifteen percent of those are women. Even though they make up half of the population. Are the women unmotivated? Do they not want power and wealth? Or it that mother fucking glass ceiling. See the stats, [link]

By its very nature, feminism is equality of the sexes. Look it up in the dictionary, that's what it is except for the case of radical feminists.

In the worldmost enlightened democracy, the United States, women made 77 cents for ever dollar that men made in 2008. [link]

So there. I stand by my belief that for equality to be achieved, women need to make a stink and appear unsightly and remind people of ugly facts of life. The label of feminazi is a crude slang term designed to silence women. Some bitch asking for equal pay? FEMINAZI! BE GONE! Women complans about sexism, she's a FEMINIAZI!

👍: 1 ⏩: 1

matthew-lane In reply to Master-of-the-Boot [2011-03-08 08:38:41 +0000 UTC]

What you are talking about is Equality of Outcome, not Equality of Oppurtunity. you look at the fact that women only make up 24 percent of national legislators & you think sexism. I look at it and see a field most women lack enough interest in to aim for. This is called Equality of Oppurtunity. There is literally nothing keeping out women from that field, other then there own general disinterest. Same goes for CEO's. The type of equality you seem to be talking about is Equality of Outcome, which is in no way equality, its just handing women things they've done nothing to deserve.

As for a dictionary definition of feminism, who cares what the word use to mean. A faggot use to be a pile of dried sticks, tied with twine, used for starting a camp fire. The times they change & so do the definitions of words.

In closing i'd point out further that your middle east dichotomy is stil false. You're making statements that seem to indicate that only women are being hard done by, so heres a list of other things that will get you executed: Singing and dancing in public, drinking alcohol, taking drugs, speaking out against the national religion, trying to overhaul laws based on religion, defending a womans honor, being alone in a room with an unmarried woman, etc etc.

I will admit I'm borderline misanthropic. I like gay/bi guys about 5 times as much as I like straight guys, just because so many straight guys are jerks, but I know that gays/bis can be jerks too. I just haven't seen it very often. xD
(But no I'm not a lez XD I still think guys are hot. But being hot isn't the most important thing about a guy.)

I consider myself a feminist because I just get so furious when I hear about all the rapists, womanizers, heartbreakers, misogynists... I can't fucking STAND that "get back in the kitchen/make me a sandwich" joke...

I was infuriated by a certain comment on Youtube to the point of tears.
"Only gay guys care about women."

*sigh* there's just so much shit like that out there. >.<

But, on the other hand, I'm definitely not a Feminazi. We're all human beings. I can't stand cruelty to women, but I can't stand cruelty to men either.
[For example, there's a video (a parody of the "I'll Pray For You" song) I saw once that portayed the singer's girlfriend being cruel and sadistic when the guy was trying to be loving in return. It infuriated me.]

Cruelty in general is just disgusting. We all need to learn how to love and respect each other equally.

Thanks for making this stamp. ^^

Really? How could someone be so stupid to write that comment!

I think Misantropy n Misoginy are horrible things, I just cant understand How someone can hate women or men, I mean We all have a mother n a father, if humans can feel empaty to other species, how some people hate one gender, I mean, is something so near to U, that is like hate to yourself.
Anyway, If U can't stand cruelty to men, then U're not borderline misanthropic U're just a smart girl who dislike jerks, a smart woman try avoit those kind of guys dont U think so?
