I really don't think this is real. One, the piano isn't to scale. And two, the piano's angle doesn't make sense. The chairs are flat, there's a slight grade to the floor so people in the back rows can see, but there's nothing to support the piano at that angle.

That's a baby grand. It's to scale.

it is 100% real! maybe i'll upload another perspective at some point. the piano has no legs anymore, it's laying on the seats. since i was standing on the stage, that angle may seem confusing.

Please do upload another one. I'd love to see. I love this picture, just the piano really doesn't look real, since it looks like it was just photoshopped in quickly at that angle.

And the piano is really there in the audience? Neat picture!

Wow the picture's awesome. Even more so because I know a theatre like this (except a bit bigger and in a good shape)

Some artists attempt to make their drawings look like a photographs.
Yet your photographs capture the mood and a richness of colors, that at first glance, you think it was a painting.
In fact, all the pictures in you gallery could be mistaken for paintings! That is very unique Matthias!!

I can't help but to feel sad with this picture, knowing it was a place full of emotions, music swirls all over the place, seats filled with audiences and a piano where countless of musicians plays with. now, it looks very forgotten T_T

The pianist got mad at the audience talking while he was playing and threw the piano at them XD but anyway this is an amazing shot!! I wish we were allowed into abandon places here in the U.S. but nooooo, they don't want anyone to hurt themselves :I

I know you won't say where you find these beautiful, hauntingly desolate places, but would you mind answering how you get into them? Because whenever I find something that's abandoned, it usually tends to be locked up tight.
In any case, just wanted to let you know that your photos are gorgeous. And I really want to know what the story is behind the piano...

Now, my question is why someone found it necessary to throw the piano at the seats before abandoning the place...

the piano used to lay on the stage a couple of weeks ago... i have no idea what happened afterwards.
