I love the episode "Tales of Ba Sing Se." So much, in fact, that this is the second picture I've done from the episode, and I have (at least) started the pencils on a few others.
Iroh's tale is amazing. Simply amazing.

I dont care how many times I watch thins, I CRY EVERY TIME! One of the saddest scenes I have ever watched! (Only one other comes to mind! And if your curious it's Buffy (the vampire slayer) finding her mother Joyce dead.... so sad!

One thing I loved about Avatar was how a lot of characters are so human. Iroh is one of the best examples of this: at first, most people see him as the jolly old man who's walked the road of life and drew wisdom from it, though his glories in war would lead to the loss of his own son... The fact that he still celebrates his birthday is touching, it also reminds him of his one regret: and that is why this moment was so bittersweet, yet so sympathetic at the same time.
No matter what station a person can achieve, life is precious.
