Aang- "Yeah, haha... I definitely wouldn't want to kiss you."Katara- "Oh. Well I didn't realize it would be such a horrible option. Sorry I suggested it!"
Aang- "No, no! I mean, if it was a choice between kissing you and dying-"
Katara- "Ah!"
Aang- "What? I'm saying I would rather kiss you then die. That's a compliment."
Katara- "Well, I'm not sure which I would rather do!"
Oh Aang... quit digging.
I kinda find it ironic that in an episode with Facepalms, hippie nomads and the White Jade plant tea... I decide to do a picture about an almost kiss.
This episode also has one of my favorite minor characters (probably second behind The Boulder), and that is Song... the girl who helps Iroh and Zuko. I don't know why, but she's really endearing to me. Just her attitude towards life, and how kind she is even though she's a refugee and lost her father. Perhaps I'll do a picture of her some day.
Do you guys have any suggestions for Aang art?

I always say that they actually DID kiss in that scene, but I'm not sure that anyone is fully positive. Still, AMAZING job with this picture Matt- I completely love it! I really admire how you did the darkness so perfectly; it looks incredible.

I thought so too. I was watching an interview with the voice actor of Katara and she was under the impression that they did... just as the light went out.
But... the way they acted afterwards, it doesn't seem like it. Aang looked a little sad, like he didn't get something he wanted, when the trail turned on

Its very nice! I liked Katara's face a bit more... I really do think they kissed in the cave - but only for a brief moment

I've been thinking about it.
I'd like to do a scene after Sozin's comet. With Firelord Zuko returning the ostrich-horse that he stole from her. I thought it would be a touching moment, and I could see it happening, with Zuzu's change of heart and everything.

well, in my story, Azula put poison in Mai's food, to kill her slowly. Mai dies a couple of days after her last scene in the show. Zuko is sad for her loss, but he looks deeps inside his heart, and finally notices that only Song loved him, trying to heal without forcing him. He finally decides to visit her, leaving behin all his power as Firelord, to enter in the town as he arrived once: as a man with poor clothes. Song is watching the sky, trying not to cry, and fireflies are around them. They talk a bit, but Song can't see who is him until he removes his hat... and then comes the happy moment between them x33
