Description So, decided to draw up the Continent of Galuvia, from my Map RP 'Hearthfell' I have been posting recently.

Its quite a large continent, about 3000 miles or so wide. Not sure if its as wide as Europe, but I kinda went for that kind of size.

I have marked off several Villages, which are the most numerous, follwed by a few towns, and fewer Cities. The cities themselves are more like repopulated ruins though. Rulers of the cities have very little influence beyond their walls.
There are no countries (yet ) just individual places.

Wanna find Hearthfell? Its that little dot at the very South Western tip of the continent.

I don't have much development on the overall map, such as names of places/locations/etc. but i do have a brief history.

Its been around 300 years since the great collapse which ended the last era; an era of the three great kingdoms, Human, Elven and Dwarven.
Many races lived within these three kingdoms, and it was a prosperous time in culture and magic.
No one remembers what sparked it, but war tore through the land, all sides taking heavy casualties until only the peasentry... the farmers... the craftsmen were left.

Chaos ruled for a while, with no over hanging guidance the survivors retreated to camps, forts, villages, towns, the cities abandoned, all for fear that the war still raged.
Over the next century communities remained in place with no interest of what was far from their homes.
The old era became tales passed down, and as the second century post war came in to stride the people began to re-emerge from their isolations, much lost to them, and beginning again.

Spreading out connections were made, trade, exploration.

A return to the old cities, decaying from neglect resurged efforts to restore the people.

Other races would not be seen for many years later, but still a rarity.

Recovery was slow, rediscovering the old ways, knowledge of the old gods, treasures, by the third century adventure, explorations... and expansion were the goals of many.

Though all was not peaceful as it always is, the greedy seek more, the power hungry craves more... conflicts would grow between nearby towns, as town leaders declared themselves kings, and sought to control, and grow.

And thus seeking seperation from such thing leads to new settlements across the continent.

Hearthfell being the latest, and the farthest from others.

There are no 'national religion' as many gods are worshipped, passed down from the pantheon of the fallen kingdoms, as well as other lesser known gods.

Many races/beasts/monsters roam the lands.

have any feedback/questions you have that could develop this map? feel free to comment.

If you read my RP map updates you know only a few names exist. Hearthfell, nearby is The Elven city of Mythaleen, in the nearby mountain range (Mirilan Moutains) is the Dwarven City of Kulduhn.

Beyond that I have not yet named other places, including the woodlands around Hearthfell (i'm just referring them to the heartfell forest atm)

Also, to any writers, if you feel like using any of my maps as a backdrop to a story, feel free to do so, and ask any questions about the world setting. But otherwise, feel free to populate this world, lol.

Love it.

Also 3000 miles wide is about the width of the continental USA from West to East coast. Overall this continent is definitely bigger than just the USA though as the US is only like 1000 miles or so from the norther border with canada to the southern border with mexico.

Yeah. Im from the states so using them as a scale was easier for me to envision just how big this place is. I'm really loving this whole thing. Watching a world unfold is really neat.
