ah fair enough, has got expensive and stuff. Guard are pretty tough round my area, but i putt that down to the Anti-MEQ lists they keep writing... My imperial Fists need a break!
looking forward to more

It's a 3D model of a warhammer 40K model for an imperial base.

I'm a blender artist...sorry.
But still, I know to appreciate 3D construction. Keep working at it Matt!

Wait, you like 40K too? I used to be into Warhammer before I got hooked on anime.
I wasn't huge into the game (too much powerplay) but I loved the collecting aspect. I actually managed to come up with an original colour scheme for my space marine chapter, which is quite a feat considering how many chapters there are out there. I loved how the scheme turned out, but it was mostly white (starting from a black undercoat) so it took forever to paint.
So did you ever collect, or did you just play a little?

I collected space marines when I was younger. But when I leant the collection I made to a friend for a competition he was playing, he met someone who collected eldar, but wanted to switch to marines, and he decided to swap his army, for the eldar one... mine included.
I didn't want eldar, so I just gave up after that.
It wasn't big, 3 squads, plus a dreadnaught, a land speeder and one other, metal, character (can't remember).
I have a frined who collects Imperial guard though, and it got me interested again, not enough to collect though.

If you're looking for a free 3d modeling program, the only one I know of is Google SketchUp. It's free, but it's also not the most amazing quality. It's more suited for architecture than anything else.

Autodesk Maya is free too, but its interface isn't exactly intuitive -/_\-

That works too. If/when you go to college, and depending on your major, the university may have a free program for you.

I'm in college now, and my major isn't related to 3D modeling/rendering. It might be somewhere down the road, since one of my majors is general Computer Science. I want to refine it to a computer programming, but that'll be a couple years down the road.

That's what I hate about Autodesk - all their crap is so darned good, but so prohibitively costly that they're pretty much limited to businesses only!
