Description Hey look, Art from me. It's a miracle.

Started this back in March when things got a little tough in my life and only now decided to finally get it finished. This was inspired by an old roleplay between Calo and myself, which at the time, was a roleplay I could relate too quite well. I don't feel like getting into details, but in case it's not obvious, lets just say this was one of Mav and Mani's harder times as well. Fuck, who am I kidding, it was their hardest. He almost killed her for god's sake. It was our first huge character molding portion of their story and will remain one of my favorites for some time. So with all that, I was quite happy to finally be able to draw a scene from this, even if years later.

About the piece itself, this was my first real attempt at a background, believe it or not. The two or three I've drawn since were from me pushing to draw and improve on my backgrounds after trying to tackle this one. Even despite the flaws, I am quite pleased with it's turn out and look forward to improving more on them as I go.

The armor and items they are wearing/using are all actual WoW inspired pieces. T9 was actually the tier Mav was using back when we roleplayed this, and Mani I put in a tier around the there because a) her actual gear at the time was a mismatch of dungeon shit and b) T9 for Death knights sucked ass! On that note, all I could think while colouring these was..why the fuck are there so many sources of light on this gear? Even the fucking dagger has lights on it! What is going on??

Needless to say, this picture turned out to be quite the experiment for me, but over all I'm very pleased with it. I drew fire, WoW gear, and a real background for the first time and I couldn't feel more accomplished have completed the task.

I really hope you like it and thanks for looking.

Very interesting atmosphere, specially when it comes to the lighting! It makes you focus right in the important details. The characters both have a very good posing too!

You probably can't even fathom how much I love seeing this scene come to life. Seriously.

Every time I look at Mani's face, I have no idea how you got it so perfectly. Feeling pain instead of being scared - grasping at his hand and waiting for death. It's so amazing. And Mav? Goodness, I can imagine that perfectly frightening grin of his haunting her dreams for a long while after this fight...

I can't get over the detail in this picture. The glow on their hands (and Mav's hair) and from their eyes, and then there's the tiny little detail of that warm lighting of the flame's reflection there on Mani's shoulder pad. I'm also completely in love with the fur on the both of them, but especially the shape of it on the back of her leg... and not to mention the gorgeous lighting from the other torch on those very boots. I adore Mav's boots too, and the lighting you did on the tip of his dagger there. And not to mention the stitching on his gloves... <3

Did I forget to mention the fire? That fire. That fire!

sdjljwe augh. It's just so chilling. I can almost hear Mav's words as he spat them, and feel the warmth of the flame. I love the dim lighting and dark mood, you did everything amazingly and pulled it all together so well. It's just... perfect. <3

I'm sorry you needed to draw this in the first place, but it just came out so so good. Thank you for drawing this. :>

You're welcome. I had fun drawing it, no matter what may have sparked it. Really glad that you like how it turned out and could appreciate all the detail I put into it. Certainly a much better reaction than to the first time you saw me working on this picture, that's for sure lol. Thank you for your input and helping me push forward with this along the way. I agree, it's nice to see a scene from this portion of their story finally.

Oh my! The first thing that caught my eye was Mav's expression! Just -love- that grin! The composition of the pose is really well-done too. And I think your background looks amazing! What really caught my eye (not only because it's in the foreground) was the torch! The wood and the lighting was really well done. ^_^ I really can get a feel for the surroundings!

His grin was somewhat of a last minute change, so I'm glad it was the first thing you noticed! And in all honesty, that torch was the hardest thing for me throughout this picture, so to hear compliments on it is like a small blessing to me, you have no idea. Thank you very much.

omg
I love the texture of the wood, it's soooo amazing! <3
Just everything about the background is amazing
How long did it take you to do it?
I also love the low lighting C:

Thank you! I was so proud of that wood back when I did it, haha. I had thought wood texture would forever be the bane of my existence, so it's great to hear someone else enjoys how it came out. As for time, I'm really not sure. Like I said, I started it back in march, did the majority of the background back then, then stopped when my laptop was taken to the shop for two weeks. From there I occasionally opened it and put an hour or so of work into it at a time. If I had to guess though, I'd say about 20+ hours. I slaved to finally get this things done to the point where I was happy enough to show it, trust me lol. There's also a bunch of little detail that probably isn't captured as well with me shrinking the canvas. I have a bad habit of doing that, but oh well. I know it's there at least lol.

Anyway, I'm really glad you like it, Rika. Thank you so much.

Hot damn Mav!
I first though this was screenshot before I zoomed in.
The character posing, lighting, and overall colors/composition just work SUPER well together.
I love all the little details you put into the armor (cause that stuff is a serious butt to draw), but you made it look awesome.

There's so much more I can say, but I'm just going to keep staring.
Beautiful work. C: <33
