Download for full size. DA hates me. x_xOkay, someone asked me to make a "how to" for Zexion's Lexicon. Each of the pictures corresponds to a step, except the last step. That's the final product (the link is posted a little further down).
Some notes;
** I don't know how well the fun foam would work, I haven't tried it, it's so much easier to just paint the symbol lol.
Symbol can be found here; [link] Just print it off and make it however large you want it! (mine was personally a little big but ah well.

Since I hate fun foam though, I'll probably just paint it. Makes it look more natural, in my opinion.
This is going to be a challenge for me. I've always been DIY-challenged witcrafts like this! But imma do it, for Zexion~! *battle cry*

Yay! I'm glad to help. It's a really fun and easy project too. I agree; I like the paint, mainly because I'm fond of painting things, but I think that craft foam could look good.
You should be able to do it. Even if just covering the book with black material like I did, or if you're lucky, finding a black book, or even painting a hardcover book black? It's not too hard. I also have the front symbol in my gallery if you need a reference for the picture.

Fun and easy? Well, if you say so! I've never really liked craft foam. It wouldn't stick to things right, and it'd end up falling off JUST when I need it to stay on. With my luck, I'll take out the Lexicon to impress KH fans with, and slowly, the overlapping Nobody symbol on the cover would fall off.
I'm going to try and find a hardcover black book. Idk what Zexion has inside the pages though, so that is going to be complicated. I'll most likely just write things on how the heart works, and different KH/Disney worlds and their Heartless and such. Seems very Zexion to me!

Craft foam can be hard to get stuck, that's true. Hot glue apparently works really well, although I've had no trouble with white glue for most things.
I filled the inside of my book with things like that as well.

I'll probably use craft foam...for something else. To me, paint is more Lexicon to me. Foam makes me things of soft, squishy things. That makes me think of teddy bears. And teddy bears remind me of Marluxia O.O''
Hot glue would be better. Never had much luck with white glue. Everythign ends up slowly peeling off. But with hot glue, I've been lucky...so far. Luckily, I remember in my crafts box, I have a hot glue gun, and some glue inserts, too, so that should be good. ...I also have sequins, I'm giving those to Andrea so she can personalize her Marluxia-bases trick-and-treat bag. Mine, I'll get a black trash bag or something. That seems very Zexion-like. I knew that stuff would be a good idea! I like the heart candidate idea, too! Mind if I use that?

Also black trash bag sounds very Zexion like. It sounds like fun! I'm jealous! I'm too old to trick-or-treat, but I hand out candy in hopes that there will be SOMEONE cosplaying come to my door.

Why thank you for letting me use your idea! Now the Lexicon will be perfect! I was worrying what would be inside it! Imagine everyone's disappointment when they see an awesome Zexion, just to see an empty Lexicon. It's like:
I KNEW it sounded like him! I'll make sure to get Hefty! HEFTY HEFTY HEFTYYYYY! XD Aww, really? How old are you? They have adult costumes in the stores, so you can still trick-and-treat! Handing out candy is good, ebing a cosplayer handing out candy would make someone's life.

I'm not that old, I'm 21. XD I know they have adult costumes, I'm just a weird person with Halloween. Not many kids come to my door these days so we stopped dressing up. ): Plus I doubt many people would recognize KH characters where I live haha. Maybe if I wore my Beyblade or Digimon costumes...

Where did you get the vinyl to cover the book?

I got mine from Fabricland, but you can get vinyl at any place that sells material I think. Comes on rolls.

Wow, thanks for putting this up. This'll help me out a lot. I'm going to a convention in a month and the one thing I don't have done is the lexicon.
I was just gonna take a fairly good size book of mine at home (that was already black) and paint it a little bit. But I don't know if that would've worked.

Well if you already have a plain black book then I don't see why you can't still use it! :] I just made mine the way I did because I didn't have another book and I got the book I used at a Used book store for like..$3.

well all the used book stores around here have been closed down so I'm out of luck for getting something that cheap.
And the only thing is that these black books are really tiny. No wear near Encyclopedia size.. But then again I guess this is just a temporary fix until I have the money/time to do what I actually wanted to do.

The larger the book, the heavier it is. Carrying around a giant book gets heavy after awhile.
