Well, he'd be pretty popular. I mean, kindness is hard to come by in Hell, and I'll bet the other demons could use a friend. It's lonely being evil. Don't ask how I know that. (This is awesome! He looks like a videogame hero, and I mean in a good way!)

Well you're right, the problem starts when this kindness leads to betray the ideology of the people (which is "all angels must die and we will take revenge on God" )

Well, in some biblical stories, God is kind of a jerk.
To humans: "Prove your loyalty to me, by killing your kids, starving yourself, slaughtering each other, etc!"
To demons: "You disagree with me, so you must live in hell!"
So the demons' revenge might be justified.

that's the ambiguity that makes the demon/angels things interesting for me. It may be not as simple as it seems ^^.
