That part is taking place some time after she was taken as one of the pupil of an old spear master. After mastering the basics, she were put against a wild beast for the first time.

Wow, Phenice had some very brutal training. Was her teacher, the spear master nearby, in case she needed help? I'm very glad she survived. Thank you for showing us another part of Phenice's childhood.

Yes the master wasn't far away (he was actually visible on one on the earlier phases where the composition was different), but he was hiding so Phénice had to assume she could only count on herself.

What an epic scene! This is incredibly atmospheric - there's something in this pic that just catching a viewer's eye and paralyzes for a brief amout a time! I can't help but feel astounded by the bravery of Phénice, who's faced (and defeated) such monstrosity in the open combat.
