Description
What is up with Hollywood and 3-D lately? I've never been a big fan of 3-D that much, and I have to say that this 3-D film business is going over the top. Let's sum up the 3-D films we got and will get this year:1. My Bloody Valentine 3-D (Lionsgate, Real D)
2. Coraline (Focus Features, Real D)*
3. Bolt (UK release) (Walt Disney, Disney Digital 3D)
4. Under the Sea 3D (Warner Bros., IMAX 3D)
5. BONERS Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience (Walt Disney Pictures, Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D)
6. Bob the Builder 4D (Legoland)
7. Monsters vs. Aliens (DreamWorks, Intru 3D)*
8. Battle for Terra (Lionsgate, Real D)
9. Up (Walt Disney/Pixar, Disney Digital 3D)
11. Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (20th Century Fox/Blue Sky, Real D and IMAX 3D)*
12. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Warner Bros., IMAX 3D)
13. G-Force (Walt Disney, Disney Digital 3-D)*
14. The Final Destination (New Line, Real D)
15. X-Games 3D: The Movie (ESPN/Walt Disney, Real D)
16. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Columbia, Sony Pictures Animation, Real D)*
17. Toy Story 1+2 in 3D (Walt Disney/Pixar, Disney Digital 3-D)*
18. Night of the Living Dead 3D
19. The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D (Walt Disney, Disney Digital 3-D)
20. A Christmas Carol (Walt Disney, Disney Digital 3-D)
21. Avatar (the James Cameron one) (20th Century Fox, Real D)
*Seen in 3D
TWENTY MOVIES IN THE 3-D FORMAT. It's all getting a bit much, isn't it? Disney are just going too far as well.

3D is the Auto-Tune of movies. If Ke$ha makes a 3D music video, run. Just run.

It seems like ALMOST EVERY SINGLE DAMN BLOODY MOVIE released in theaters just has to be in damn 3D! I mean, I know that some people like it, but I'd feel like I have a headache if I saw enough 3D films. I know it also brings in more money, but it's so overrated it's not even funny! I'm sorry for the language but this just ticks me off.

What's worse is that the Star Wars saga and James Cameron's Titanic are going to be rerelease in 3-D.

Wtf... Titanic in 3D? To me that seems a little ... I don't like. Like offensive or something. Just, why would you put a movie like that in 3D? That'd be like going, "Let make death of people in Vietnam in 3D COOL?" No Dude, not cool.

"Do I have to keep these things on ALL YEAR?"
Yep, pretty much, same thing goes for the next year, and the following year, and so on 'til about 2014, but it'll probably go beyond that knowing how hungry those studios are for some more cash pies... (I'm hoping not, but that's basically what's happening...)
*checks link to the list in the description* There was even a 3-D Pokemon movie? Seriously...

They make the screen a tad darker when wearing the glasses, and it is more expensive in ticket prices than 2D.

I'm not a fan of movies in 3-D either. They're too expensive and the 3-D glasses are itchy. Let's hope they can still show good movies in 2D.

When I saw Toy Story 3 yesterday at the National Film Theatre and there was a Q&A with Lee Unkrich and Darla K. Anderson (whose autographs I got), Lee said that he didn't want to be gimmicky with the 3D, because he hates those pop-out effects.

LOL, love this 'cause it's true. I really don't like it when they put 3-D in "real life" films, even if they have computer generated people and sceneries, it just takes away the interest in it. 3-D should only be for Animated films (Ex: Up, Beowulf, ect.).

I've seen Mosnters vs. Aliens in 3-D, which was actually awesome, but the whole 3-D business is just getting out of hand for me. Some 3-D movies haven't even been considered exciting for enough, e.g. the 3-D concert with three gay boys.

Personally, i think 3D is the new Stereo sound.
it's a "brand new" idea and everyone wants a piece out of it... by the time we're all grown up, 2D films will be the new black and white

16. A possible comeback of The Nightmare Before Christmas in Disney Digital 3D
Already been done. October last year 2008 around Halloween...they had an special in 3D at my theather. Shame I did not see that movie for I am fan of Tim Burton. :<
It repeats...like a circle. For my parents mention 3D movies was a hit back in the 70s...and now? Hmm....anyway kinda good (for Coraline and Bolt was great in 3D). Other movies like My Bloody Valentine and Journey to the Center of the Earth was so-so in my view.
However being a person who wear glasses...(yesh I am a nerd!><,) Kinda hard wearing them for my vision is kinda blurry....unless I wear both my glasses and the 3D glasses.

Yeah, I like 3D (particuarly anaglath), but this is getting a little out of hand. But hey, most 3D films are rather good, I saw "Coraline" last month (which was made with 3D cameras) and was fantastic.
I'm excited for the animated features, not so much on the live-action stuff, that includes "Spammy Plotter and the Overly Hyped Prince" and Disney's "GERBIL-Force".

Not that 3D isn't insanely awesome though.

I think Planet 51 is supposed to be a film for little kids, possibly because of the harmless, babyish-looking aliens. It sounds equal to Space Chimps, so why did THAT have to be in 3D?

What sucks is that when I wear my glasses and 3D glasses, I start seeing double. :[
But yeah, this 3D jazz is for the sake of enhancing the experience. This started because with the new HD TV's and pirated movies, less people have been going to movie theaters, so they want to make it more exciting for everybody. It's all just business.
