Description My buddy called me crazy for drawing something like this. i think he is right! After all you cannot study mechanics and physics all the time without having to fear the consequences!
When I close my eyes that's all I see! WAAAH I'm scared!

Well anyway you see a futuristic landscape, obviously liveless, no human or animal is walking through this dead and mechanised world, where scyscrapers cover the view.
Still you can see new Buildings and machines being constructed in tha background! If there's no one alive, then why does that Construct keep on growing??

Gosh, I'll never study mechanics when my brain gets twisted like yours xD j/k
You have an interesting perspective of world's possible future. It IS possible that someday buildings will construct themselves/via robots and it IS possible that we'll live in a world without plants and trees 'cause our population grows and grows and we need more space to live.
Whatever...my perspective of the future is similar to yours but I think war will destroy most parts of the world (maybe nuclear) so that our population will slowly die 'cause radioactive food and water kills you
I hope that will never happen but if it does it could turn out in a sci-fi scenario where people are fighting for water and not for oil.

Gosh! Thank you very much!! You are very right! The thing is, I do not really think war is going to destroy mankind... at least not a full scale war, being fought on the surface. War in future is more like a cancer, gnawing within our society. So we are not going to see a complete downfall... more like a change...

Exactly wahr I wanted to say.
A cancer that slowly kills from the inside which could end up up in huge companies selling our few resources for high amounts of money (water, fruits, meat...).
You describe it as a change but over a long time a cancer will break out and then it's too late.
You see my point?

Of course, I just wanted to show it completely neutral. Whether you want that kind of end, fight against it or don't care. It's completely your choice.
Still I don't think that some kind of war, be it full scale or not, might lead to a scenery as shown on that drawing.

Thank you very much! You know I've been sharpening my pencil all the time! First I wanted to use a "Stabilo" felt pen, but that one was WAY to thick, so I had to cope with a pencil. But no matter how much I sharpened it, all the fine lines wore away in an instant! GAAAHR:.. That has been an annoying eperience, but after all It didn't turn out THAT bad. I hope you can still see enough details .

Very interesting drawing.

I love the amosphere, and the general feeling of iron-grey machinery, tremendous expansionism and decrepit machinery.

I guess that's where we are going. Remind's me of my own "grey world" concept, where the skies are allways grey and factories, barren lands a postapocalyptic degradation are all there is left.

Very good, very deep and excellent work of art!

I can fully understand you! This has nothing to do with pessimism or a hate for human life. It's just an illusion, that could be true if we will not take care. That Idea doesn't make us fanatics fighting for the environment and so on. Perhaps this IS just the next step our world will take, be it a step backward or forward, it depends on your personal view and interpretation. For now they are a view into a different world, or a state of mind. Warning? Forshadowing? Prediction? Who knows? Some may not like it, some may be confused as how much of yourself will be revealed by it.
Reminds me of something the Author Lec once said: "Live ends, but not it's consequences."
By The way. the photograph with the skull. Where did you get it from?

Sadly I can't use smilies anymore....

True, I see it from an indifferent perspective... human "progress" is interesting to follow. Only one thing is certain: change.

I'm not a fanatic for the environment, I'm more of an observer, a mirror, interpreter... I may be opiniated, but still, I like contemplation alot.

For me, a landscape such as that means only this: indifference, and at times nihilism.

One question: what does Zawod mean?

I took it myself. It's wax model of an actual female skull that sits lifesize in my moon. Took it from below... sort of signifying the dominion of death and decay, but the same time, she looks sad herself.

It's amazing!!!

"Zawòd" means "Factory". It's polish, but the russian word for factory sounds identically, it's just impossible to write in Deviantart. I wanted to show the progress the constructs make in that picture. Even without any live left to observe the machines they keep on constructing, building, growing and working. How ironic, isn't it?
