I'm quite proud to see you covering Baltimore. Is that where you are located? (don't laugh! All this time and I'm unsure of where you are)
To witness the atmosphere, people, streets; Really good work.

Thanks so much, Melissa.
Yes, I'm from Baltimore, although I live outside the city-proper now. It's still "home" for me and I'm there a lot. . .
Where are you these days?

P. S. I didn't know that you're a Salgado fan. You have even better taste than I thought.

Thanks so much!
As to the answer to your question, there were multiple reason why I categorized them as I did.
I'll explain next time we "talk."

A great shot. It's amazing seeing the creativity in protests. No need for intransigence and violence.

I was lucky to get it before I got elbowed out of the way (while I was crouching this low), by a local newspaper reporter who seemed to be one step behind me all afternoon. I suppose I should feel flattered, but he was a real pain in the a$$! He should have been one step ahead of me, if he's any kind of a newspaper photographer.

Maybe you looked like someone competent to be a kind of guide ... Anyway it's a good way to learn. Follow whoever seems have greater safety.

I think that safety was part of the consideration. If any of the people really didn't want to be photographed - and I'm sure there were plenty of people nearby who had outstanding arrest warrants - they would yell at me first, not him!
