If the card's called Toon World,Β how come doesn't it look very cartoony? If you ask me,Β the cardΒ has a more Halloweeny vibe by the looks of it

Also, the owner and user of the card-Maximilian Pegasus-had a subtle gimmick where -since he had suffered a loss but wanted to move on- he would cover up his sadness and pain with cartoonish and zany antics, his monsters and magic reflecting it. Monsters he used- even if originally noble or frightening- would start to act playful and wacky (very Loony Toons-esque, quite intentionally) whenever they were effected by the magic of Toon World. However, Pegasus' facade sometimes cracks, letting through some pretty unnerving creatures and mannerisms (See the monster Relinquished for reference) seep through to the surface of his persona. He may be a campy goofball on the surface, but look a little deeper, and you may see something rather frightening, or at least disturbed. Given all that, it makes sense that Toon World might look a little gloomy and foreboding.

The artwork used in the anime and first OCG/TCG was referred to in the anime as "The Chapter of Fiends". basically, it's a pop-up book with each chapter containing things like this castle. It has plenty of unseen chapters like "Goddess", "God" (changed to "Rat" in english), "Beast" (on page 666 of the book, changed to page 721 in English), "Elf", "Mermaids", "Demons" (which may well be 'fiend') "Dragon" and "Monster".
