Overall wonder picture, ways to improve add some random to the grass, it is too even, sky looks more like sun set but too blown out.
I'd try HDR lighting. Tutorial can be found here. [link] If not, try a different sky texture because shadows are not matching the background. The foreground looks almost noonish but the guardian and sky look evening time. Getting these to match either way should really improve your picture.

Two things I'd recommend:
1. Throw some ivy in there. Blender has a ivy generator plugin called ivygen I think. Look under Add Curve plugins.
2. Subsurf that guy, and use the crease to bring back that rocky look, as well as pump the normals on him.

This is an awesome image. I never seen Monster Rancher but I do like the design for the giant, and the disk plants and the grass ground turned out great to. Overall great image.
