Description Main body:
Omnii are slender and definitely not heavy bones. Some are more stream line than others, but over all they should have a light build. Something that reminds you of a fairy-like little creature. They are no more than 8 inches in length, including their tail. Their teeth are extremely small if they have them at all. Also their tongue are long and slender and might remind you of an ant-eater’s tongue; very dexterous and flexible. Omnii come in 2 types:

Air - Always have a double set of wings, the hind set being much smaller than the main flying set. The back set is more for show and gliding, as well as maneuvering in the air. They are quick in the air, like a small bird, turning and landing on a dime. They have fur as well as feathers in this variety. They always have long thin feathers coming off of their ears. They do not have claws or horns.

Water – This variety does not have wings, nor do they have fins. They can have projections of thick skin or hollow bone – like spins, etc. This type can have horns, but this is more rare and are never large. They can ‘whiskers’ or finger-like parts around their mouth/toes. No extra limbs or tentacles. No scales! They are still mammal-like and so they breathe air. This also means that they are prone to more shallow areas, but can inhabit coral reefs and dive up to depths of 100 feet. They do not have claws. They are more delicate of the two types, so they are more flighty.

Senses – They can hear very well, though their sense of smell is their best asset. Their sight in all types is akin to a humming bird. They are also able to see ultraviolet colors as well as the normal visible spectrum like butterflies. (thus their colors, like flowers, have ultraviolet tendencies beyond the bright ones we can see)

Feet – They have four toes on all feet, no claws and thin pointy toes

Color/marking information: Omnii can be basically any color as long as they are bright or unusual. In other words no boring solid brown or black. But they are rarely clashing colors. They’re colors and markings can be inspired by anything in nature such as flowers, butterflies, birds or fish. But they CAN NOT be exact replicas of anything in nature.

Life Span: They can live up to about 30 years, though 20-25 is normal. Though the land type tends to live the longest. Breeding age is around 6-8 months of age for all types, though the older the more experience they have the more likely the babies are to survive.

Reproduction: Their gestation is around 5 weeks and they have 1 or 2 babies at a time. They have live births in all forms. They can have up to 3 birthings per year when conditions are correct. Air types tend to have their babies with them, clinging to them like a bat, giant ant-eater, monkey. You get the idea. Water types tend to have a nest, due to the fact that their babies cannot hold their breath as easily. Babies are born almost helpless, like a puppy. They do drink milk for the first few weeks.

Society: They are not really social animals for the most part, though pairs have been known to stay together in the same area. They are not generally polygamous.

Climate/Environment: Just about anywhere, however the colder the area the less likely you are to find them. You would mostly likely find them in the tropical area and coral reefs, where everything is brightly colored and warm.

Intelligence: They are smarter than most animals, rather like parrots or dolphins. However they don’t get much more intelligent then that. So they are not as smart as Lithhounds [link] or humans.

Genetics: Colors and markings are not passed on to the next generation. Basically each Omnii is unique, though some can have a few traits similar to their parents. The 2 varieties can inter breed, though it doesn’t happen very often. When this does occur, the babies are either one type or the other, never a combination of the types. In those cases, an air can every now and then successfully raise a water, but a water can't raise an air.

Names: They can be named most anything, though normal human names are extremely rare. They more often call themselves items or sounds, like Spoon or Woosh. Some are even named after phrases or ideas. For example Cold-water or High-flyer.

Other: They are never, ever, ever to be drawn in an anthro form! Feral only.
