Watch out for ninjas

There's a long story attached to this shot. Please read. It's important.So here it goes.
Everything was calm. I took a pear out of the refregirator to take make a nice fruit picture as my good friend Francois Cote had done weeks ago (see his work : [link] ).
Then at the precise moment when I dropped the pear on the table something caught my attention. I felt a simple and gentle breeze on my cheek. Then I turned back to see if I let the window opened then I heard : **SNAP**, turned back again and then! DAMN! A ninja had cut my pear in to half.
I haven't seen a thing, I only heard the sound of the katana going through the juicy fruit. I'm not sure if you can see it on this picture, but it is CLEAR that the cut was made by a very sharp katana since the pear haven't even moved... And the cut is so clean. WHOA!
I'm lucky that he wasn't heading for my head.
Still I'm not sure why have he came my way... was this a warning from Francois not to try to make the same picture as him? Or maybe it's was a "ninjaesque" way to tell me that some people want to kill me? Or he was sent by the future to tell me that if I don't do anything, America will be torn appart by a second civil war (this is CLEARELY represent by the two part of the pear, top = north and bottom = south) the connections are all there... I just can't find what he meant...
Who knows... I'll have to be on my guards all time now.

as one photographer to another..i really really enjoy this piece, i am only 15 and this is my first year of photography. But i have grown to love it. I am only limited to one lense (but a very nice minolta camera, 'thanks mom') and black and white. I take photography in school, but next year i will be a junior and be able to move up and out to the Elkhart Area Career Center, there i will take comercial photography. And there i will hope to learn the essentials to become anywhere near as good as you. And i will be able to do color photography, WOO. Though i do tend to like black and white more...this photo makes me appreciate color. Now that i have given you my life's story, let me say you are one of the people i will work up to. Thank you...and if you would find the time, check out my photography and if you could, give me just some friendly advice for you are definatly more talented than i. *Fav *Friend i will be happy to see more work.

Woooo! Well first of all thanks. You're lucky to have the chance to take photography at school, and to start to like photography at your age. I never had classes in photography, and looking to go in photography at the cegep (like between college and university here in quebec). You know I don't even know how to develop a film, I mostly shoot digital, and when I shot with my traditionnal camera (Pentax K-1000, thanks mom to) well i go to the lab, so I if you know how to develop, you're already better than me in some areas. For the rest, I think that practice and experiments does the thing to get better. As soon as I finish answering most of all comments, I'll go check out your gallery and give you the advice that I can. I really appreciate your comment, glad i can inspire someone

Oh wow thank you very much, oh and yes i know how to develop negatives and enlarge them. Next year (junior year, 11....i've been in canada once...Winsor 'yeah i don't know how to spell that...) and i was egged my first hour there, in a group of three girls..me being the only american and the only one hit...lol) I will be able to enlarge and develop my negatives for color film as well. I asked for a digi cam for my birthday- The Big 16- so i will maybe be able to start uploading real cool digital images? Eh? Maybe i'll start giving you a run for your money? Yeah probably not. But i surely will be flattered to have you check out my gallery when you get around to it i really do love your art. But maybe i'll catch you around sometime, and i'll keep giving you little ego boosts....see ya around!

There's only one thing that can defeat a ninja, of course. And that's a pirate. As ninjas are masters of the land, so pirates are masters of the seas. The great ninja/pirate wars are legendary, but shrouded in the secrecy and shadow of the ages.

Honestly, I really doubt a pirate would have a chance against I ninja. Ninjas can walk on water, jump higher than the sun, dodge bullets, and slice pirate like butter. I've never understood how anoyone could consider a pirate better than an ninja. But if you do, I respect that.

You are wise to the ninjas now, I would be careful not to speak too loudly or they might come back for your head.
I agree though, the ninja managed to cut that pear perfectly. I love the way it sits there, half on top of half, as if its life had be severed without any change in state. Such vibrant colors, such a quiet scene. It's peaceful really.
Excellent work, especially with the lighting. The colors came out crystal clear and they seem to shine beyond the depth of my monitor. The offcentered look is also a nice tangent from the usually centered photos we're used to. Great details, especially on the outer skin.
Careful around ninjas and fruit. You just never know. And congrats on the Daily Deviation.
