Watch out for ninjas

There's a long story attached to this shot. Please read. It's important.So here it goes.
Everything was calm. I took a pear out of the refregirator to take make a nice fruit picture as my good friend Francois Cote had done weeks ago (see his work : [link] ).
Then at the precise moment when I dropped the pear on the table something caught my attention. I felt a simple and gentle breeze on my cheek. Then I turned back to see if I let the window opened then I heard : **SNAP**, turned back again and then! DAMN! A ninja had cut my pear in to half.
I haven't seen a thing, I only heard the sound of the katana going through the juicy fruit. I'm not sure if you can see it on this picture, but it is CLEAR that the cut was made by a very sharp katana since the pear haven't even moved... And the cut is so clean. WHOA!
I'm lucky that he wasn't heading for my head.
Still I'm not sure why have he came my way... was this a warning from Francois not to try to make the same picture as him? Or maybe it's was a "ninjaesque" way to tell me that some people want to kill me? Or he was sent by the future to tell me that if I don't do anything, America will be torn appart by a second civil war (this is CLEARELY represent by the two part of the pear, top = north and bottom = south) the connections are all there... I just can't find what he meant...
Who knows... I'll have to be on my guards all time now.

I know you've gotten tons of comments and are probably sick of them, but this is such a great piece. I love the photo...the colors of the pear are beautiful and contrast really nicely against the white. I really like how the shadow also reflects a bit of the colors instead of just being pale and boring.
The position of the fruit is great, especially with the way it's sliced. I have no idea how you came up with that. Pears have a really annoying core, so you really must have had a sharp knife. 
I love the story that goes with it. It's very charming and makes the picture come to life even more.

Thanks a lot for your comments. I don't think I'll ever get bored of getting comments. The only thing I think I don't like is that I can't answer, or thank every one because it would take like a whole day.

just fantastic in its simplicity and yet the cut and pose of the fruit makes it so original - and great great title!

The reason why I decided to look at this piece was because it was so unusual. I have not yet seen someone do a still-life on cut fruit.
Moreover, I like the cleanness of it, the way the bright colors of the pear just jump out at the viewer against the stark whiteness of the background. Ingenious, really.

Yeah you definitely have a style. The thing is, is that people can see their own style because they just do things regularly the way they like them.
If 2 people see a possible thing to be photographed, they usually dont photograph it in the exact same way. One person will shoot it one way and the other a different way. When the 2 people are taking the pictures they dont realize that they are taking it a certain way, they are just taking it the way they want to.
The way u take one picture usually carries over to all of the photographs u take.
I probably did a horrible job describing how u have a style, and i cant really explain your style but u def do have one and its cool
so keep up the good work and maybe note me some time
