Thank you! You're very kind! It means a lot since Retro/Boudoir-ish style is your area!

I have to agree! I hate it! I hesitated so much to post this one. Thanks for the critique!

Thank you! I'm feeling a bit rusty! I'm trying a couple of things lately and see what good comes from it.

Yes, I'm back! At least until school is back in session... It took all my time. I need to learn how to make time for my hobby, I missed it so much... and you too guys!

I'm guessing you are taking a full time program and if so it's super hard to have the time in a day to do much more than recover and prepare for the next day, they are all designed to be a grind.
It's awesome you are finding some time to get back into it now though, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your work!

It's a grind but it's so fun! And it will worth it when I'll be able to afford a really good computer that will cut my render time in more than half AND a computer screen that does require me to switch my render to a phone to see if I overdid some details!! First year is finished and I got really good grades (yeah, I'm bragging!). I can't wait to start my second year in August but it's really nice to have some time to catch up with Internet friends and make art.

Nice that's so awesome congratz on getting through that first year, there is so much to get used to and that's half the battle right there!
I'm guessing you are in a 3d art program? if so they bombard you in the beginning with all the different subjects but as the program goes deeper the focus narrows and it becomes more about your demo reel, I'm not surprised you crushed those grades, a summer break well earned no doubt!

I'm not in a 3D art program at all, I'm in a bio-medical sciences lab program. The 3D app I'm using is really easy to use, very user friendly. I don't have a lot of merits using it. But I wouldn't close the door at educating myself more in that field. I see a lot of amazing stuff some artists make and I'm feeling a lot jealous of their level of skill!

Oh crazy, my apologies, you do such amazing work I just assumed..
I think you have the right approach though, those video game/3d animation schools are crazy expensive with dubious results at helping a person actually get into the industry, there is no limit on good tutorials online for learning everything you could learn at a school and more at your own pace with, in all likelihood: better instruction than you would get as well.
Haha I'm sure you're joking anyways but you've got nothing to be jealous about, you're passionate about your hobby and that drive will take you as far as you like with it, all the while you're absorbing new ideas/approaches from those artists you admire, which will augment your existing skill set all the more!
Looking forward to watching your talents grow!

Don't worry! I'm actually flattered that you thought that I was studying in that field. And now, I'm wondering too. Do you have any artistic background yourself or are you self-taught?

Though I did attend a few semesters at the (I believe now defunct) art institute here in vancouver, it was a huge waste of time and money.
I have taught myself everything you've seen me do and I generally discourage people from going to art school if it ever comes up, there's just too many better free options online -these days especially.
I'm curious what got you interested in your art? You're obviously very passionate about it, to have taken your skills this far on your own!

It's a bit embarrassing to be honest. I was looking for a way to make PC portrait for Call of Cthulhu game I was playing (yeah, I was not only a WoD geek, I was a tabletop RPG geek.). I was tired to take pictures that I have found on the net and telling them: "She looks like that but mix it with that picture a bit and the outfit of that picture.". So I was looking for a character generator or something like that and I found that free 3D program www.daz3d.com/home. My computer had the bare minimum for running it and I gave it a go. I had no idea how it worked, never even touched a modeling program before and had zero knowledge in photography, but it was relatively easy to learn. For a couple of years, I was just doing it for fun, didn't try to learn anything about the app and didn't really progressed but I would say that the last 2-3 years, I really started to take it more "seriously" and tried to push my limits.

Oh cool that was a pretty inventive way to solve that, I've never heard of anyone coming at it from that direction before.
Good on you for taking on the challenge, obviously a great decision that has no doubt brought a lot of satisfaction.

It is in a way, but the one made for the contest really came together well. This one not so much. It took a lot of work to make it work and it didn't work as well as I wished.
