Description
Today is Hunter's birthday. XD This is a pretty lame tribute, but I didn't realize the date until the afternoon, and this was all I had time for. These are from my math and English class notes for this semester. I'm still trying to pin down Hunter's look, so experimenting with him is a good way to kill time.
Anyway, enjoy this hastily slapped together collection of wildly inconsistent doodles that ostensibly represent a video game character. And my crappy handwriting.

Hahah, fun looking doodles there! This guy's from Spyro, right? Looks familiar. *Reads DarkFaun's comment* Oh, he's from A Hero's Tail.

Guess I shoulda introduced him better in the description, sorry.
Actually he's from the second game, Ripto's Rage! (known as Gateway to Glimmer in other parts of the world), but he became a regular for the series after that.
Anyway, thanks! :3

Hunter would certainly have fun with Bianca's spellbook... He would probably turn himself into a sheep by accident though.
Very good doodles. And yes, trying to pin down Hunter's look can take time - at least he had the luck to be in A Hero's Tail; for Elora you're still stuck with making doodles out of big polygons.

Heh, most likely...and then he would misplace the thing before he could find a counterspell. X3
Thanks! True, the higher-res model in A Hero's Tail is helpful, but it doesn't have quite the same character that those big polygons somehow managed to. I tend to make things harder on myself by trying to match some kind of abstract feeling I get from the original character model, though I do compare with the various other versions in subsequent games and promotional art for ideas about the more uncertain details. X3 Anyway, I enjoy studying all the different interpretations of the character. The one on the Japanese cover for Ripto's Rage!/Gateway to Glimmer is interesting to me in that it's closer to my own interpretation than the other high-res models.
At least with Elora you can compare notes with Oliver Wade's concept art . I only wish I could see his original concept for Hunter.

You certainly cannot mistake this cover for a non-Japanese one.
Interesting concept art. So Elora was supposed to be a centaur? Good thing they settled on a faun. I find centaurs boring. They probably figured Hunter would spend his time trying to ride her if she looked like a horse.
Well, I guess I will have to update my, ehm, updated comic with this look of Elora's. It looks better than what my random design.
