Description
The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inert, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.-Morpheus
The Matrix
Perusing through my books, I came upon the Enter the Matrix Official Strategy Guide. After flipping through the book, I decided to take a shot at sketching the law enforcement encountered in the Matrix.
Excerpted from the Guide:
Armored Military SWAT are the most lethal law enforcement units in the Matrix. They enter battle with massive body armor, powerful weaponry, and deadly accuracy. Armored Military SWAT aren't critically harmed by most guns and, unless the rebel has a SG-552, G36, or M95 Sniper Rifle, attacking with guns should be avoided. Instead, use closing moves to approach them dodging their gunfire and then quickly disarm them. Once they're been stripped of their weapons, they can be dealt with by standard physical attacks.
The naming convention in the game guide, I think, reflects how the Matrix story blurs the line between law enforcement and military in its dystopian setting.
