As requested. Now i will go back to animating.

Anatomy shoulder area tutorial, dos and don'ts.

Edit: added different kinds of common stiffness.

Edit 2: this tutorial only serves your conceptual purpose, showing you what is the correct base to use for construction.

How to use this tutorial: Start by applying the base shown in the tutorial, keep the moveable parts of the shoulders in mind when you practice.

What this tutorial will not do:
- It doesn't help you with proportional/perspective problems comes with using the construction.

-it won't improve your skill unless you go and find more references and practice.

See: for general anatomy references and tutorials.

Just a quick question; if you wanted to draw a biped that had two sets of arms, (like Machamp from pokemon, for example,) how would tose connect together in relation to the rest of the torso? I've been working on a project and can't seem to get that part to look natural.

i will treat it like its a tumor on his back. lol The style allows it to work without the proper anatomy.

This is really nice because I always have so much trouble drawing men! That, and I've never had a serious art lesson lyk ever! I had the typical elementary and middle school classes and I took one class in high school, but it was a very general art class and didn't teach anything about anatomy that I didn't already know for kiddie how-to-draw books. So for self taught people like me, stuff like this is gold.

yep i do need more senior colorist's help. If you can help coloring the fight sequence that will be great, just be sure you can hand it in a week time though, i am on a tight schedule.

mayshing In reply to AuroraWhite [2010-03-09 01:39:53 +0000 UTC]

send me one this thursday(USA standard day which will be almost friday here)if you send it late >.> I might be delayed.Send me one that's about 30 or less

Also,I want something in return...nothing much..just pweese teach me how to make backgrounds~

I'm starting to be very good at drawing manga and stuff, but when it comes to mixing it with backgrounds,I stink~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mayshing In reply to AuroraWhite [2010-03-11 06:48:19 +0000 UTC]

sure.
Background is like drawing a character, each background needs to be done with a backstory, concept of history, and function, as well as reference itself. I need to make a "how to start doing backgrounds tutorial" anyway for someone, I will cover that then.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AuroraWhite In reply to mayshing [2010-03-11 13:01:24 +0000 UTC]

^_^
um...I still have no clue how to make a background or even a scenery

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

mayshing In reply to AuroraWhite [2010-03-11 22:22:30 +0000 UTC]

First thing i ever do to start is start by eyeing, and copying a photograph actually, seriously... not anything creative, that's how i started. Making background is like trying to write a story, if you don't even know how to spell words, you can't write a story. It's the same with drawing, so the first thing is to learn how to draw everything, a mountain, a tree... many different trees, leafs, seasons, etc...

Start with something you like to see, like a photo, a post card on your favorite room, castle, sea or woods... and start learning by copying first, they called it scenery drawing or painting. But really it's mostly copying what you see. No way around it if you want to learn to do it.
