That background was that a texture made in photoshop, or was that the noise renderer in after effects? Look great Ishould probably start practicing in flash and after effects.

i didn't use flash in this. It's just photoshop and AE.

I know I was talking about what I use, so did make the texture or use a filter in after effects

photoshop texture. i try to avoid things that lacks AE like hell. ^_^b

Excellent animation. I was using AfterEffects for an animation project of my own last year, but I shelved it when I couldn't figure out how to effectively apply a "camera panning effect".
It would be too awesome if you made a brief tutorial on how you did this. It would totally resurrect my project!

its simple. Draw a character on 1 layer, textured bg on the second layer, (make them very large, much bigger than required spec) I used A4 size at 350 dpi, the actual screen is 1280X760.
Import into AE, then move and play around with your shot, add some effects on top at the end to make it loop better.
The timing is pretty much key to this whole shot.

This is really cool. you know there is a program called Celsys Retas. its a program made years ago for Anime cause they didnt have Photoshop and such, so they made this program. Its amazing for animation, and many popular anime use it. Should give it a look into.

i know that program, its inter phase is too old for me, and it's rigid. Adobe photoshop and after effects are still better workflow and options wise.

eh, i find Celsys better. Cause it was made for animation only. its meant for that purpose, and is still used to this day. Photoshop gets on my nerves more times then i can count, and after effects to me is just a memory whore that should die in hell for eating up so much computer process. flashy effects to me are worthless at times and over used, and i give more respect to the anime that still use more tradition and only put effects they can do with simple programs and great style. and let their story create the true effects.
but thats just me. adobe as always pissed me off lol

Celsys is a neat efficient program, great it works for you, I just prefer adobe brand's work flow over it.

I was looking for timing practice and a rough feel actually.

Gotcha. When you get use to handling the camera, you can really go nuts with your animation for real.

i know how to use camera on a basic sense, i don't quite like to use them though they slow down render time like mad.
But tutorials will be nice.
I personally check out and follow video copilot, saw a couple of other AE sites before as well.
