Never did watch much Pokemon (was to entrenched in Digimon and to against anything that had at of hype around it at the time), but I always did like Pikachu. And even though I thought Ash was an idiot, he did have a big heart (and lets face it, ALOT of Anime and Americain cartoons and movies have heros/main chracters that are big hearted but idiots).
So I guess I'm saying that though it's not a favorite series of mine, this is very cute. Not to mention it brught back memories of the Pokemon jokes we use to make. My best friend use to torture me by drawing my characters as Pokemon. 
And I ramble... the odd duck zips her beak and craws back into bed where she should have stayed today.

I never saw this scene, but for a cute Ash/Pikachu moment, I'm kinda partial to the time when Pikachu gives Ash a little lick on the cheek at the end of the first episode.
Nonetheless, you drew the style really well, and it IS adorable.
