Photoshop and Corel Painter, mainly photoshop painting.
I need to learn how to paint better.
To some who may find this inspiring...
To be honest, this is one of my most uninspired picture thus far... Xd I pushed it to finish it.

Really good painting.. I'm not a big fan of Zelda games (Since I've rarely have gotten to play them) but this is a really good painting!

I really enjoy the way the blue blurs into the yellow on the face in the BG. It looks like Colored Pencils

I'm glad how u made Link mascular, because he is. and I like Sheik in the Bg. the coloring is great!!! I envy your skills and this scene reminds me of the manga scene were Link is going to the Gerudo desert and meets Sheik/Zelda there again.

Yes I appreciate it!! Because it's way more realistic then those skinny Links I always see. It doesn't make sense because Link has such big items he needs to have muscles!!

Zelda looks really masculine here hehe. You know I think it would have looked more epic if it was just a landscape shot with the front shot of link a bit faded. Cuz the stallion riding Link just screams epic. Man this is inspirational, maybe I should 'attept' a landscape painting. Never really did photoshop landscape art. Shadow of the colossus really resonates with zelda ^^

interesting that your trying out different brush strokes from your normal style. Yeah digital painting is pretty tricky, even more so if you haven't got any experience with traditional meduims. mybe stick with one program before mixing them?

I am more experienced with photoshop, but not Painter. Perhaps I will try to do more Painter. But Painter's layering is alot less flexible than photoshop... thus making me switching between them back and forth.

An excellent representation of Link, finally represented with all the masculinity and without all the absurd stylistic embellishments. The lack of definable strong lines give the character and softly colored imagery quite the comfortable effect on the imagination.
Conversely, as a small nit pick I have to admit that Iām not a huge fan of the background, or at least the horizon line and its yellow color by virtue of that fact that it seems rather added in at the last second.
But I can contradict all of that criticism by saying that at first I thought shiek was poorly established in the sky, until I full viewed the image and stared at it for a few minutes and decided it was quite cleverly faded into the picture by means of the clouds.

Thank you for the detailed comment and crits. I was trying out the different brush stroke with Calligraphy pen, kinda ended up in a mess. XD

I really like the expression you put on his face and the overall look of the piece definitely looks like a painting. It makes me want to go and relive some moments from the series. He definitely is one of those unforgetable characters...good job

Photoshop painting is tough to get a hang of mostly because the colors just don't blend. I mean, c'mon... you don't even have to blend colors manually like you do in photoshop in real life!

Painter is good for that.... still, I can't get what I want from my mind. This picture looked nothing like what I had in mind. OTL
I figure I have a blind spot somewhere, >_> My paintings just aren't loose enough where it needs to me. My eyes are better at judging than my hands and brain delivering it.
I am going to take a painting class.... -_-b

Not a bad idea. I know what you mean though. It's so frustrating when you really want to do something, do it, and it comes out nothing like you anticipated. My PC still hates Painter

Actually, I had poor vision for this piece, it altared alot (grown?) away from my original intention, while its not all bad, I certainly would like to be able to do just what I want.
I can do so with drawing, just not much with painting yet.
