Thank you, Richard. I painted it according to a historic sepia photo so I didn Β΄t know real colours. I wanted to express through colours feeling of late sultry afternoon in the suburbs. Btw, the buildings were destroyed due to "modern building up" in the fifties As you could notice I like old buildings and everything old

Well that's a god awful shame that they'd tear down a towns heart.
But at least you have this painting as a testimony to better days...or at least better buildings

I love how you have captured a mystery about this scene. It is quite surreal and the colours are very complimentary and calming, yet in some parts it warns the visitor to be wary when walking into the painting. You have a gift Martina. Cheers.

Pearlescent pink cloudy skies ,
the setting sun , suggestively ..
and the onset of cold from
the billowing smoke , time-etched
walls and passage
by the foraging dusk ,
captured at five ..history..on the move ,
the 'sense familiarity', a seat of memory
and warmth .

very poetic. i just feel like kind of languid now, like in this painting, feelings of strange nostalgia, from something we never know exactly wath it is, but its there, inside...and sudenly you are walkin in a street of an unknow place and everything turns gloomy, a great nice big gloomy feeling
kissssses for you

Thank you Every art work, poetry or paintings, express our inner and inward feelings. After my "blue period" suddenly my thoughts were warm and sunny, like the summer day, among the ancient unknow place, at 5 p.m. ....
Maybe, my next work will be blue again
Thanks again
P.S. How are you ... ?? I hope everything is well with you !!! Let me know what news ...

i like it. i don't have any idea of European weather as i never experienced i. still i can smell the essence. the damp walls, the crooked windows, the melancholy street lamp, the pale sky all seems to be the narrator....

thank you very much for your kind words, my dear friend. The colours of the painting has nothing to do with the weather. I wanted to express a warm feeling of late summer afternoon in the willage square ... So colours are only from my imagination. I painted it in accordance with a historic photo, this part of Prague was destroyed in the fifties .... This shot was taken probbly about in the early 20th century
