The Charles Bridge is the oldest stone bridge in Prague. It was built in 1171, after its destruction due two bad deluges in 1272 and 1342 it was beeing used only as a temporary wooden construction.King Charles IV put down a fundation stone of new bridge 9.July 1357 at 5:31 a.m. The date was chosen by astrologers as optimal and the happiest moment of the year. It seems they were right, the bridge celebrated 650 years before few days !
