Thanks a lot for your Critique! Well appreciated!
I totally agree with your opinion. Just in respect to the rules of composition i have a different point of view. First of all, the rules of third is just a easy version of the golden rule which is even more attracting. However, there are rules to break them, if possible.
I was aiming to a vertical split into three parts ( to come up with the rule of thirds again) to have (abstract) three layers: One in a dark, muddy blue, one in a blazing golden color and the third in a white -but non-white layer. In the other direction there is a division, too. the two hills to the left and to the right form an division into three slices as well, though they are shifted to the right a bit. I did this because i wanted to have the upcoming line of the river first and then the line down along the city. Positioned exactly with 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 i might have had bot of them starting at the left and not leading into the image.
Thanks a lot!

WAS? Wonderful!
It looks like a sci-fi scene. I can see an old space ship resting under the city bases, on the left side of the river.
Dreaming or living, what a gorgeous place to dream about life, and after it.
Congratulations!

Interesting fantasy on this scene! It always rmeinds me on the the film "Stardust" when the protagonist discovers the magic city behind the wall..

Aw, and other thing; any chance you have it on bigger format, so I can use as wallpaper? It would be for a 21" screen. If it's ok for you, of course.

MIght have been cold but man what a beautiful shot! I was in Germany between 1976-1979. Served at the now defunct Rhein-Main AB. Loved the beauty of the country.

These were cold years, too! From the AB you really had a nice region you had to be in!

Prefer this one - it may show less in the overall photo, but it has more light and such to draw in the attention of the viewer.
