Unfortunately, it's because the anime catches up with the manga. But that suuuucccckkkkkssssss!!! Why can't they just stop for a while after every season like other animes? There are animes that after they finish a season, they don't show new episodes for like 3 or 4 months. Sure, it's a long time, but it's worth it! If Naruto did that from the beginning, we would have started the Immortal arc a LONG time ago!

Im with you. i cant stand haveing to wait through the fillers. I have been watchin the anime JUST to see Hidan, and just when i thought it was going to be them, THE STUPID FILLERS COME ON!

As much as I hate the idea of fillers, and having their big introduction put off, I see where Kishimoto is going with the fillers.
Much in the same way the anime team managed to sneak Matsuri into the Gaara revival scene, they will have the filler kid (with the claws, or what have you) be the one to tell Konoha that the monk temple was torn a new asshole by the dead-dynamic-duo of Akatsuki.
More or less, Chirizu (or whatever his name is) will be great friends with the weird kid by the end of the fillers. Then the fillers will end, and segue into the canon story; when Chirizu dies, the kid will replace the random monk who witnessed the massacre, and will go to tell Konoha just how much of a beating they are in for.

Yeah, fillers suck most of the time, and one gets the idea some of them are aired just so a character gets more screentime so they can avoid working them into the plot. Or the obligatory Valentines Day/onsen episode. *shudders* -_-"

But sum of the fillers are good ^^ In this case, we'll see how Naruto develops is new technique... Instead of having a DBZ like where all the characters come up with random techniques and get stronger in a random supposedly hopeless fight. But I agree they could be shorter ^^

What I'm really terrified about is that the fillers will be horrible, with a lot of useless flashbacks and the plot sucks or something. I just hope it will be as good as the Bounto arc in Bleach.

Naw it won't/ it's just 2 episodes of naruto getting a new technique based on rasengan and some explanations about how nature/form chackra works... Not really good but at least it explains things more so that you know why some attacks will be more effective later on so that the characters don't make a 1 hour explanation at every attack. ^^

Heck yeah!! My jaw dropped when I saw the guys who invaded the temple WEREN'T Kakazu and Hidan. They say they do that filler crap so the anime doesn't catchup to the manga, but the manga's way ahead!! I guess we can just wait until they get back on track....
