Description

Flare impacts into the back wall of The Vault, falling to the ground. She straightens herself up to a kneeling position wiping her mouth from the heavy blow. A small fire has broken out in the corridor from the fighting.

Bombshell closes the 50 yard distance between them in one flying bound.

"Easy Bridge, you're getting all worked up. You might even throw out one of those curls", Flare coughs as recovers.

"Shut up! After all the things I've seen you do through my own eyes, this is me going easy on you!", BB's eyes begin to well up in complete rage. She begins charging another blast.

"Look how far you've come! I guess you learned a thing or two about finally letting go. You should thank me for untwisting a few of those knots you've been tying yourself up into for these past few years."

"SHUT UP!!!" Her blast grows even larger. They both know it would be enough to finish the job.

"There you go Bridge. You're one throw away from doing something even I wouldn't do." Flare rises to her feet, a little unsteady.

BB raises her throwing arm. "We both know you're too powerful to walk out of here free."

"Doesn't matter. Either way, you'll still be around and all that wonderful darkness in you is going to bubble up again. Someday you're going to be mag-nificent!" Flare says in a sultry tone as she wryly smiles.

BB's tightened brows and clenched teeth suddenly shift to an expression of shock and a touch of fear. Her blast begins to dissipate.

"No!" She whispers as she sees her possible future. A villain even worse than Flare. Her posture relaxes and her shoulders drop.

Flare begins to saunter to her spiritually stunned double.

"Oh come on now Blue. You'd do well to throw this whole hero thing aside. You don't have to serve the people. You're practically a living goddess! You're stronger than the rest of your pals put together."

Flare closes the distance and takes BB by the shoulders, leaning in closely as bombshell looks up through troubled eyes.

As Bombshell begins to part her lips to contest, Flare delivers a final verbal blow that would haunt BB for the rest of her days.

"Why. Deny. Your. Power?"

As alarms blare and The Vault's structure crumbles, a blast through the corridor's walls interrupts the two.
