Here I am with another old/unfinished Flash animation from my early animation days. And it's a doozy! In fact, I think it's "the best animation I never did," even if I did cheat a little

Back in 2012, I wanted to make a follow-up to my original "Get a Load of This" animation I did. I decided that I would do this by doing a shot-by-shot recreation of the animated intro to Sonic CD, replacing Sonic with Ol' Ivo! I did this by rotoscoping over the original footage, tracing backgrounds and drawing Robuttnik around the areas Sonic was in the original. The results speak for themselves! Of course, as with most of my animation projects, I bit off way more than I could chew and burned out after a few months. I've chipped away at it over the years, hoping to find a place to dump it, and I finally wrapped it up to a point where I felt would be a good breaking off point. This meant trimming down the animation to spanning a fraction of my original vision, but at this point, I'm amazed I ever made it this far on my own.

While I was making this animation, I gained an even deeper appreciation for the amount of effort the original animators put into the original intro. Seeing the subtle ways Sonic would anticipate each action and the squash and stretch when it was executed was something that I always notice now when I see the animation. Even though my animation is just a pale imitation, I still get a thrill watching Eggman swoop around the forest loop-de-loop in the sole finished segment of this animation
