you started well but then you got bored i think. Spider's neck detail is good also shoulder and hands. But the wide spaces need some texture like spider's yellow butt, legs etc etc...

ou know, in all the hours (okay, its minutes) i spent trying to think of interesting creatuers to draw, I never once thought of putting a human head on a bug.

That is very awesome how you managed to insects as well as arachnids into this. It's great how I can see the abdomen/post abdomen and its appendage are a wonderful combination of orb weaver and primative scorpion and the rest is so mantid and elegant wasp.... I have a big soft spot for arthropods, obviously.
Would be great to see this creature character in a good movie. Oh-hoh yes.

Now thatβs what I call an awesome and powerful hybrid being: strength of a woman, poison of a scorpion and speed and capacity to fly of a vespa!
What most attracted me into it was her face, so beautiful yet so deadly appearing at the same time, it remembers me some horror moviesβ¦ and also because of her wings, that in my opinion are different from everything elseβ¦ they seem to me more to be fairyβs wings or something magical than of such a monster like this!

Hey Thanks
I have a Toshiba tablet PC. It lets me draw directly onto the image. As far as I can tell it's about the same as using a regular tablet and desktop PC but you can use it whilst sitting on the couch watching a movie or at a coffee bar.
I generally draw all my artwork out by hand in pencil (4H/2H) and then scan it in and texture/color it in Photoshop.
