Description

Numix-Circle is the newest Numix icon theme and it uses circle shaped applications icons.

This is version 14 of it and it comes with about 2150 application icons covered (over 800 more than the previous version) and the biggest change in it is that the baseplate background shape and some of the icons symbols have been completely redone so it feels like a whole new theme. It is a huge improvement over the previous version.
It has custom:

  • Folders icons

  • System Settings icons

  • Indicator icons

  • Symbolic icons

  • and more

These non application icons are part of the basic Numix icon theme, which you can download or purchase from here .

It is GPL licensed and the "code" is hosted at GitHub .

If you wish to install it under Ubuntu (or derivates) execute the following commands in terminal:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:numix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install numix-icon-theme-circle

If you wish to support the project please buy the icon theme for every dollar counts.

Other Numix related artwork can be found here .

Don't forget to circle our Google + page , become a member of our Google+ community and visit our official webpage .

Icon requests and bug reposts should be filled in Launchpad as bug reports.

NOTE: Please check our website for instructions for installing under Fedora/RedHat and openSuSE.

P.S. If you want to request in application icon do it the THIS WAY .

I have no idea. But you can always grab it from GitHub.

With this last update I can't unzip the file (partially, but the scalable folder always gives me an error), can you make a tar by any chance?

The .zip file extensions is what you're having issues with?

Can't replicate. Odd.
But you can grab the tarball from GitHub - github.com/numixproject/numix-…

Ok, I found a workaround on the issue, I had to manually create a folder named "apps" inside the scalable folder, for some reason the "apps" folder doesn't unzip properly, so after creating the apps folder, all the icons got unzipped fine

It's weird because I thought there was something wrong with zip on my machine, but also I can't unzip it properly on my Nexus (all other zip files get unzipped just fine) anyway at least I got it sorted out until I find what's going on

me4oslav too bad for me, I guess
But I got the old icons out of the backup folder, so all good. Just seems to be much always replacing the new ones whenever you guys release an update.

Well, get used to doing the copy and paste or learn to live with the new ones.

Great icon set, but the recently changed trash icon is really ugly. I was so happy to have found a cool one with the recycle sign and now this typical trash can. why???

me4oslav In reply to wan2-LNX [2014-08-08 06:02:10 +0000 UTC]

Because we like the redesigned one better and the feedback for it has so far been extremely positive.

removed and re-added PPA, uninstalled and reinstalled the two programs and performed the apt-get upgrade on the icon sets both as a normal user and as root in ubuntu, but can't get the Numix Circle versions of Teamviewer and Google Docs to show correctly. The .SVG files for both are there, but for some reason they won't apply. Everything else works.

Probably means these icons are hardcoded, which means this is not our fault. Read this to fix them - github.com/numixproject/numix-…

I never meant to imply it was your fault, merely inquired as to what you might have seen to be the cause. Thanks for the link and the info. You rock!

After installing, broken icons are shown on my software manager page.

Icons of All Packages, Internet, System Tools, Fonts, Science Education are broken.

Can you please help me with a fix?
Thanks.

I recently updated this icon pack via PPA. The outer white borders are gone and I guess I am okay with that. However, some of the icons have rough, pixelated borders. For example, both chrome and firefox icons have rough borders.  They  are not round and smooth like the others. This one of the reasons why I prefer the older icons.
I do not know if these pics show them clearly but here you go:

i really like this pack , this is so far the best pack i used , i just don't like the icon in top bar (wingpanel-elementary OS)  since all icons are flat except these icons which have gradients , so i'll be really thankful  if there is any way i can change them by custom icons & thank you in advance

i'm not trying to say that  is a bad choice , i'm asking abt the possibility to change them to custom icons i did by myself , i just don't like them since  it doesn't meet my own criteria

You can change the .../Numix/22x22/status icons. /Numix/ is the base icon theme.

Wonderful theme! I tried to install it on Ubuntu gnome 14.04. Successfully done. But it doesn't show in Gnome tweak. Please suggest me any idea to set it.

This is a weird bug for I run Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 with Gnome 3.12 and I can apply the theme via the gnome tweak tool.

Hi! Thanks a lot for this delightful theme!

I was just wondering what may be causing my Unity left-bar, to display the square background on each icon after successfully installing this theme. I'm on Ubuntu 13.10 with Unity and can't seem to remove them in unity-tweak-tools nor any other settings menu. I could also notice that the Numix GTK theme does not apply the same colour palette/button distribution on regular Nautilus windows. Any clue?

Unity in 13.10 doesn't support launcher theming. This feature is 14.04 specific.

Why would we redesign it? Provide feedback why exactly you think it's bad.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

magamig In reply to me4oslav [2014-07-04 21:22:55 +0000 UTC]

I personally don't think it is related to what Settings do, but this is just my opinion, something more like this I think would be more suitable: cdn3.iconfinder.com/data/icons… but of course with your adaptations

Gr8 JOB Again, really love it
