Numix-Circle is the newest Numix icon theme and it uses circle shaped applications icons.

This is version 14 of it and it comes with about 2150 application icons covered (over 800 more than the previous version) and the biggest change in it is that the baseplate background shape and some of the icons symbols have been completely redone so it feels like a whole new theme. It is a huge improvement over the previous version.
It has custom:


  • Folders icons


  • System Settings icons

  • Indicator icons

  • Symbolic icons

  • and more


These non application icons are part of the basic NumixΒ icon theme, which you can download or purchase from here .


It is GPL licensed and the "code" is hosted at GitHub .

If you wish to install it under Ubuntu (or derivates) execute the following commands in terminal:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:numix/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get installΒ numix-icon-theme-circle


If you wish to support the project please buy the icon theme for every dollar counts.

Hey! First of all this icon theme is awesome.
I have one question, is there a way that this icon theme works in Unity with Numix light as GTK-Theme?
Because the indicator icons are light and the theme is also light. So I need dark indicator icons.

Could you please add icons for 'Cerbere' and 'Slingshot/SuperSlingshot'? I love the Numix aesthetics and have purchased both Flat Dark and the Numix Circle icons, but the theme being somewhat broken in elementaryOS categories (likeΒ  i57.tinypic.com/wbdro8.Ò…) is jarring to me.

well i doesnt shows in ubuntu 13.10 64bits at least, no in my desktop , also the date and time icon in the top manu look lika Β blank picture, but if i go to settings it does shows

Ive tried but when i hit the key the pupup disappears and i cant find a way to take one. but picture this you know when you click on the clock, top left corner of the screen it pups a calendar.. well the icon there is missing. thats my bug :/ and ive made and icon myself, dont know if am allowed to.. but i just could wait and ive made one for network manager, and nepomuk backup, also xdiagnose tool, i just dont know how to name them though for the system to pick them up, i know Krita icon should be name calligrakrita.svg and it worked but dont know for the rest though.

Use kazam for screenshots. BTW, xdiagnose is there, just change the icon line in /usr/share/applications in the xdiagnose file (drag and drop it to root text editor) to "icon=xdiagnose", no quotes.

well i manege to set the icon for the calendar just by making a copy of one and renameing it "calendar"... i log out and log back in and its showing now... i didnt know Numix shine was dead ... i feel like it has more icons than Numix circle does. and btw i mange to make an icon for krita by naming it calligrakrita.svg and for the mimetype for .kra i used application-x-krita.svg and im finally happywith the UI :3

Do not use numix-shine, it is NOT maintained and doesn't follow our new guidelines and not everything is aligned in grid. Β I can not force you to not use it, but I can advise you to use numix-circle.
