( Fictional ) Redesign of real Indonesian-made Pindad SS2 Assault Rifle to make it more modern, and easy to use, and easy for the export market.Basically to make it more ambidextrous, easy to use, and more ergonomic for the user, and the added 'lid dust cover' to prevent mud-sand-small debris to enter the firearms system via the charging-handle slot. And also, it's more modular and easy to convert into other multi-caliber weapon system.
The firing selector is like AR-15 / M-16 / M-4 type trigger group. So the user who has muscle memory of M4/M16 type control can easily adapt with a little training.

The actual one actually sucks in terms of customizability. The stock is a solid part of the reciever, and so is the flash hider on the barrel. I've only held one and seen it disassembled once from an army friend, but right off the bat its design is not modular and modern.

Maybe if the SS2 get more development time in the real world, and slightly re-engineering, it can be more modern & modular. It has the potential.
* Maybe added extra weight in the rifle too.. if they choose full monolithic aluminium receiver like in my illustration.

I wouldn't know much about what goes inside, but I do know the Pindad HQ is right next to my dad's campus, haha
