Description
For this picture I had to channel my inner pyromaniac. It's a WW1 german flamethrower operator incinerating some poor bastard.Β It's hard to imagine a weapon from that era, that is as devastating as the flamethrower.Β And I mean devastating both for anyone on the receiving end as well as the operator. One hit in the tank and they'd blow up.
The idea for this painting came from the new Sabaton song Fields of Verdun.

~Buuuurn baby, burn!~
Fantastic work on the flames! I especially like the glow on his protective suit and reflection in the eyes of his mask! c:

Or one could say "Brenne, Schwein, brenne!"
The flames are my favorite part, not only because of how they turned out (they look so good!), but because I made them in less than 30 minutes. I've actually shown some efficiency while drawing. If only that lasted for the rest of the picture, the background is quite rushed and lacking in detail. Which heavily contrasts with the flames, but then again, it draws more attention to them.

Fields of Verdun, and the battle has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one under the gun
Thy will be done, and the judgement has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one, fields of Verdun
It's a excellent song!

Oh yes, it is a fine song indeed.
Fields of execution turned to wasteland from the grass
Thou shalt go no further it was said "They shall not pass!"
The spirit of resistance and the madness of the war
So go ahead, face the lead, join the dead
Though you die where you lie,Β never asking why
I have this part stuck in my mind.
