As you can see, this rove beetle is all eyes. And these guys have one very interesting capability, that you might recognize from certain famous fictional creature. They have extendable jaw, that they use to catch prey, which is then brought to their mandibles as the jaw is being retracted. Yes, almost exactly like an Alien, well, the key word is almost, instead of it being another pair of mandibles, it's sticky.Related content
