Description
Update on escaped cartoons: I've constructed a 1/12 scale cell, and the danger is over. And yes, I'm doing some comix this way, when I want a stop motion animation effect, or when I don't feel like drawing backgrounds. Process shots of the cell set coming soon.-Keith

He's never gonna live up that moment when he saw his car humping garbage cans.

Whose car hasn't humped a garbage can or two before, really?Β That's where mopeds come from, right?
(I like what you've done here Keith!)

Ha! I really want a moped and I've been mashing my car into garbage cans for a week to no avail. I'm starting to think I should just buy one. In all seriousness, thanks. I'm really liking the look of blending reality with cartoons and it's good to know the style isn't just appealing to me.

If the car is female, you might have engine problems, otherwise conception should be a simple process. If itβs male, the moped isnβt gonna happen, because trash cans canβt support such a large infant.

It might be like a mule or a liger situation. You can breed other animals to make a hybrid, but the hybrid can't conceive.

Mopeds can convince, itβs just that the offspring are commonly mistaken for a separate species. Look for segways in your area, they may be the run away litter.

I'm guessing at this point that either your car or the garbage cans is a eunuch. And you're welcome, it does look good.

I'll make sure to draw testicles on the garbage cans and vehicles in the future to avoid this confusion.

Let's not get too hasty now. Ambiguity has its appeal.

Neat. Do you print out the characters and cut them, or just draw them on cardboard, colour and cut?

I did this all digitally. I have done paper cut outs in the past and plan to do some with this, but I used Procreate on my iPad, and a pressure sensitive stylus. A few people have asked me the same question though, and I really like how the finished piece is a little hard to dissect. I really wanted the figures to look like they're inside the environment and that lets me know I'm on the right track.

I'm pretty sure he just drew it in Photoshop on top of the pic.

You are correct. I used Procreate on my iPad with an adonit jot touch 4.

How are you finding the Adonit stylus. I had one for a while (Not one of the bluetooth ones just one of the standard) and it worked great for a little while, then I found it started skipping while making lines, a little bit of "silver coolant gel(For PC Heat sinks)" got it working again for a little while, then it started being not so great again. I have since gone back to cheap styluses for my iPad. Anyway just figured I'd see what you thought of the adonit stylus.

I love it, as long as it has a nice new disk tip on it. It's gotten finicky after an update here and there, but it usually works great. There's some little tricks that I've gotten into the habit of to limit the problems (like tapping the disk off screen to get it parallel with the surface before pulling a line), and I like drawing digitally as much as traditional. The pressure sensitivity is the winning factor though. The Bluetooth thing makes all the difference. It feels like I'm drawing on super hot press paper, but with more options than traditional sketching. I also love the option of painting with no clean up or mess. Procreate is the only app I use too. Of all the ones I've used for the iPad, their's is the best.

I enjoy Procreate, but my goto for my iPad is Artstudio. But my iPad is older than dirt (It's a gen 1) so I'm not sure if the bluetooth one will even work with it. I know I am running into issues with being able to get the latest versions of apps because I can't update to newer versions of IOS, But it is what it is. It's still functional. I do most of my drawing on the Wacom computer now anyway, at least when it comes to digital.
