Cola is a Protogen, a cybernetic alien creature originating from outside of the Spiral Galaxy, or the dimension in which it lies in, for that matter. Cola came to the Spiral Galaxy on accident, as he was on a spacecraft that, unfortunately, was dragged into an inter-dimensional wormhole, and he was lucky to have survived the incident, as the vast majority of the craft's crew were killed upon the impact of the ship onto a fairly large asteroid, said asteroid happened to be near the Spiral Galaxy. Eventually, Cola, as well as the rest of the surviving crew, made their way to the nearest planet, Gairuum. Now, Gairuum is a planet that has little to no people inhabiting it full-time, rather, it is a deserted planet that is now used for two things: waging wars away from your home planet, and tourism. After the group came to the realization that they were now stranded in an alien dimension with seemingly no way home, many of them panicked. Eventually, Cola, a lowly Protogen, stepped up and made the choice to lead the crew to the nearest inhabitable planet, no matter what the cost. At first, the others mocked Cola and refused to follow his command, as he had basically been the equivalent of a slave on the doomed ship, however, the crew, seeing no real better option at this point, eventually agreed to let the creature lead them onward. For months the crew trekked onward, with no sign or hope of ever making it off of the currently war-torn planet, when finally, after all of this time, Cola found a space port, one of only five on the planet, and boarded a ship to the planet Techrain. After they arrived, the crew disbanded and eventually settled down and found homes, all except for Cola. Cola, the unfortunate soul, couldn't find any home to call his own, not to mention that many of the planet's natives disliked his appearance, and nobody would let him in. Eventually, he grew tired of the people's rejection, and so he walked off into the distance. Eventually, he came across the Wastes, a large section of Techrain where people go to dispose of their unwanted, outdated, or broken technology. He decided that he would build a hut out of scrap, and he would live here, since nobody else wanted him. As the time went by, he started messing around with the wasted technology, and over the course of five years, through tinkering, guesswork, trial and error, he learned how to use the wasted technology to create new technology, and so he created a backpack with spider-like legs attached to it so that he could walk through the Wastes quicker without using as much energy.
