And joining the Tamers first are the last ones to become Tamers, Ai and Mako. However, since Impmon will become Takato’s partner, I needed to give them each their own new partner. I won’t reveal who are their new partners, but I will say their forms have something to do with it. Also, they have a special connection to Takato that I won’t reveal at the moment.

And the last the join the Tamers is none other than Takato’s cousin Kai. Kai appeared in both the anime (though only one episode) and in the movie featuring Ceasermon and Mephistomon. I felt he could’ve been an interesting addition, and there’s always room for more water Digimon.
