It's based on the Yoku Blocks, the infamous disappearing blocks from the Mega Man series.

I like that projector box thing.
And illusions just reminds me of Dr weil from MMZ4,where he summons the the shadows of the first 4 bosses of MMZ3,while his EX skill is to summon the second tier of MMZ3 bosses to attack you.
