Description
[A Comic : The artist and the character]A short silent comic...
"When love and skill work together expect a masterpiece." -John Ruskin (1819 - 1900)
Well, actually I was bored a day ago. But I decided to do something unusual.
This is a short slightly-silent comic about how the artist express his feelings through art. Kinda cliche, but yeah. I was kinda embarrassed how I drew the 3rd to the last panel. <_<;
"In life beauty perishes, but not in art." -Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519) "Notebooks"
Took me a day to finish this (and my hand is kinda tired.) I used 0.3-0.4 signpen and 0.5 gelpen for the line-art.
Enjoy reading, everyone!

Ooh very well done! I love the pacing of the panels and my eye was never lost on where to go. Your design work is great as well.

You've eloquently put into images what so many people feel...
Β
As a writer there are times whenΒ we feel a deep longing for more out of the relationship between author and masterpiece...
Β
When we try to imagine what it would be like to fight a battle, our hearts clash with the villains...
Β
When we see a passionate story of love and redemption, our hearts feel every beat of our character's as they finally reunite after the battle is over.
Β
To be an author of any kind is to be one with his or her characters... To see their story through both their eyes and our own... And softly long for their companionship in our own lives...
Β
Still, we have only to take a moment and remember our first story, first picture, first songΒ or first idea we ever gave life to, to realize our hearts have always been with these precious friends... And though the world we live in today has a way of keeping our hearts from reaching out to those we have created... There lies in us... a hope... a wish... a dream, that someday we may get to be with them... even for a moment.
Β
With a heart of joy a writer can make stories of valiant heroes.
Β
AΒ heart of depth and the songΒ weaverΒ has the power to tell a tale both new and yetΒ ancientΒ and wonderful.
Β
The person whose heart is downcast can describe our deepest losses and feelings of grief, agonizing as it was for us as for them, inΒ a simple tune...
Β
We may find life a bit constraining as an author... to be a writer is to know the limits of our skills... When we understand what we are made to do and who we are... our stories are at their best and most potent level of impact.
Β
Until that time when we choose to follow what has been laid out for us by the Great Author of Life, we can only share pale impressions of the things we are made to do.
Β
In closing I'd like to share a short poem with you.
Out of the Pages
"Out of the pages grows a story, wrapping our arms in glory, a gentle kiss of joy and bliss, sweet eyes tearing up.
The passage of time may dim our minds but the stories we've written live on and on. Now dear friend of mine, do you understand the meaning of time? Is it's purpose to live and die again or is it to help focus our hearts ahead?- To a future where no story or writer is dead, 'cept the ones we'd rather not mind?" ~ Me
Β
Β Well done megawolf77, for using your talents to shape the world around you in a positive way, making the world a better place.Β You have the potential for an incredible amount of good, and you've earned my respect as a fellow artist, though I paint with words and you with color. We both share a special kind of lifeβ¦ one that those who only watch and read are unable to understand in as deep a way as those who have made even a brief story, song, art or other thingβ¦
When you know the feel of seeing the world around you through the eyes of another⦠the whole scope of purpose comes into view⦠We are to help, lift up and to cheer.
Β
And though I may sound overly dramatic, my hope is that even a few things written here will be sufficient to let you know how wonderful an impact the piece you have made has been in my life.
Suffice it to say that you have a great amount of talent inside you, and someday I hope to be there to see you shine.
Β
Until that time⦠Keep up the great work Megawolf77 and live the life you have to the fullest.
Β
With well wishes, (Bro-fist) and a welcome smile ~ From Monturrock

I can totally relate to this. It fills me with a sense of longing I'd almost left behind; I've so often wished that I could visit the world of my characters. That I could, say, stop time in the normal world, make my imagination my reality, and give it a life of its own for a while.
Oh, the epic awesomeness that would ensue.

This actually made me cry. But that's a good thing. It touches on a subject that's really dear to me. Dunno why alot of people are calling it cliche, you almost never see any artist/creation works. Although I try to contribute to that, most of mine are a little too *ahem* adult to upload to DA.
Everyday I wish my Gary would come to life like that....

Of all of the silent comics (410N3, The Artist and The Character, Daydream) I have always liked this the best. I don't know why.
