Description Hedorah's bio card.

The third entry in a Godzilla fighting game series, and still no Hedorah? Really? I just don't get it. It's bad enough that the infamous Smog Monster wasn't in the second game ("Save The Earth" - y'know, THE THEME SONG OF HEDORAH'S MOVIE), but not even the third? And Varan was? VARAN? I just don't see how they managed that. And then all we get is some throw-away line about Hedorah being too difficult to make look right and needing special programming. (Despite the fact that they managed Biollante's similarly-textured plant body, Godzilla's scales, Mechagodzilla's rusty armor, Mechagodzilla-II's shiney armor, King Caesar's fur, Obsidius' rock body... but making Hedorah look slimey was just NO-CAN-DO, apparently...)

Seriously, if we somehow manage to get a "Godzilla 4"... Hedorah must be the first character announced. Not the first new character, the first character period (after Godzilla 2000, of course).

I have! It has its fair share of issues, but I like it. I love that Hedorah is playable!

Godzilla vs Hedorah. Judging by reviews of the movie it was a bit of an odd Godzilla movie.... even from cheesy old Godzilla standards.

Actually hedorah was in Godzilla:Final Wars, he was one of the enemy monsters unleashed by the xillians (i forgot if that is how you spell their name.)

Wasn't he also in final wars?

I think Hedorah has only been in one film... Toto or Toho whoever is head of Godzilla production was so angered by Godzilla vs Hedorah he banned the director from making another film.

I actually thought Hedorah was going to be in the game, mostly because Osaka was covered by a toxic fog and one of the pictures hinting at unlocking monsters in single player showed Jet Jaguar attacking a poison gas vent.

No, he's an alien formed by Pollution and waste... He looks like one, maybe both.. like Mutalien.

MikeSpikester11 In reply to Flippyfly311 [2013-10-03 01:20:17 +0000 UTC]

I still think he fits better as a Mutant. I mean look at SpaceGodzilla he's a Mutant and came from space, when Godzilla's cells went into this black hole. And since Hedorah was mutated by Pollution and Toxic. I think it's reasonable for Hedorah to be a Mutant.

I find it stupid that in Godzilla v Hedorah, Hedorah was a challenge for Godzilla, then in Final Wars, Godzilla defeats him like he's nothing. I bet the Showa Hedorah could defeat the Millenium Hedorah.

btw, Hedorah's actually a mutant. It's formed by smog and sludge in the ocean.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-22 14:13:46 +0000 UTC]

The actual theory of his creation was that he was a microscopic alien life form that came to earth in the ocean via meteor. It was in a sense mutated by the sludge, but it gave him strength by feeding off of it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-23 20:34:28 +0000 UTC]

he's of alien origin but mutated by eating pollution... how's that not a mutant?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-23 21:02:30 +0000 UTC]

Honestly I don't really know of he actually mutated or not. You would have to read up on it some more, but he is definetly not of this world.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-23 21:54:38 +0000 UTC]

in the movie, and other official sources, he is said to be from a contaminated cell that was in a bunch of slime and muck in the water, in a heavily polluted area.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-23 22:05:37 +0000 UTC]

Not sure what you mean by "contaminated", but this is taken directly from Toho Kingdom and pretty much says that Hedorah is in fact an alien: "Hailing from the outer regions of space, from the Dark Gas Nebula in the Orion Constellation, a microscopic alien life form attached itself to the passing Ikeya Comet. This hunk of rock would eventually bypass Earth, and bring to the planet a new monster."

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-23 22:12:48 +0000 UTC]

it was contaminated because of the pollution in the air and sea! it has 3 forms. one is aquatic, one is aerial, and one is terrestrial. all 3 based off of pollution

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-24 00:54:12 +0000 UTC]

I am well aware of its toxic nature, but it has extra-terrestrial origins. If contaminated means mutated then so be it. I still believe he belongs to the Alien faction as this picture states.

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

CyberMonkey21 In reply to SephirothZilla [2013-01-23 07:50:26 +0000 UTC]

Spacegodzilla is in the mutant faction but he's from space. Megalon lives on Earth but he's in the alien faction.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to CyberMonkey21 [2013-01-23 12:48:06 +0000 UTC]

It explains that Megalon simply sided with the Aliens. But I really dont know why Space G isnt considered an alien. I was only thinking that Hedorah was originally from outer space as a microscopic life form attached to a meteor bypassing Earth.

CyberMonkey21 In reply to SephirothZilla [2013-01-23 19:19:32 +0000 UTC]

Alien Faction monsters are monsters who do the Vortaaks bidding. Mutant Faction monsters are power hungry monsters that seek nothing but their own personal gain, and will kill any other monsters, including other mutant faction monsters.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to CyberMonkey21 [2013-01-23 20:51:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I know that. But all I was saying was that it makes more sense for Hedorah to be an alien.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

CyberMonkey21 In reply to SephirothZilla [2013-01-24 05:47:16 +0000 UTC]

It say's in the Unleashed guidebook that all monsters are mutants, so shouldn't they all fall under the Mutant Faction? Hedorah would have to support the Vortaak, as I stated b4, Alien Faction monsters are monsters who *support* the Vortaaks invasion, meaning they don't have to be from space to be part of their faction. In GMK, there was a King Ghidorah who was classified as an Earth Defender, along with Baragon and Mothra, and GMK Godzilla was more mutant faction. Titanosaurus aided Mechagodzilla in Terror of Mechagodzilla, so some believe he should be alien faction, but Titanosaurus was being controlled by a man who sided with the Black Hole Aliens to get revenge on those who shunned him.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to CyberMonkey21 [2013-01-24 12:36:54 +0000 UTC]

GMK was a completely different timeline and Titanosaurus would have suited a better choice for the alien faction. I have read the guidebook, and seeing Godzilla vs Hedorah numerous times and reading up on various sites has lead me to believe that Hedorah is in fact an extra-terrestrial being. It doesn't necessarily seek power like a mutant, just survival. Therefore, if it were to appear in Unleashed, it would be controlled by the Vorrtak, either by force or choice.

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-24 01:40:45 +0000 UTC]

then, technically, Spacegodzilla, Krystalak, Obsidious, and Destoroyah would be too. That also means that Titanosaurus, megaguirus, Biollante, and Kiryu would be Earth Defenders, and M.K.G. would be Alien.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-24 02:12:25 +0000 UTC]

Hedorah was an actual extra-terrestrial being that was alive on another planet. None of the monsters you mentioned were alive on another planet, Obsidious and Destroyah wouldnt even be valid as aliens at all. Space G might, but probably not. Megaguirus and Titanosaurus are neutral so they do not defend the Earth, Biollante IS an actual mutation, and Kiryu is a cyborg under the GDF's control. It isn't even mentioned in the film that Hedorah was mutated. However it is mentioned that he came form another planet. The theory that he was mutated is simply speculation as far as I can see.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-24 02:52:17 +0000 UTC]

have you only seen the film in one language?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-24 02:54:27 +0000 UTC]

I prefer the dubbed films because I want to watch a movie, not read a movie or simply not understand it.

RubberyParts In reply to SephirothZilla [2012-11-24 02:58:42 +0000 UTC]

then your argument is invalid, as the dubs usually change things to make american audiences more intrigued. at the time, a US audience would like an alien monster more than a pollution only monster

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-24 03:02:01 +0000 UTC]

Then how come the official site TohoKingdom says that Hedorah is in fact an alien? Mutation: Maybe. Alien: Definitely.

SephirothZilla In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-24 04:26:14 +0000 UTC]

Closest source I can find. The fans are obviously far more knowledgeable then you and I about various Kaiju, and they are not all from the U.S. Does the Japanese version of the film actually state that Hedorah was mutated? If not, then there is no more I can say.

I agree MegaZeo, they should've really put Hedorah in Unleased.

I mean if they can put Biollante in the game then why not Hedorah?
The game would have been alot better with him in it.
Imagine the awesome abilities we could wield if he was playable

RubberyParts In reply to LordGuyverVII [2012-10-23 17:32:40 +0000 UTC]

oh, they tried. the skin (the colors showing on the model, making it so it's not invisible or wireframe) was too complex for the game's engine because it was animated slime with gas and motion. All of Hedorah's game files are still on there, but it has no images. It has sounds, moves, animations, model, etc.
Also, Monster X and Keiser Ghidorah were scrapped due to the game's engine unable to handle 2 of that Ghidorah.
(Hey, Why didn't you fucktards make it so nobody can play as the same monster, huh?)

LordGuyverVII In reply to RubberyParts [2012-11-20 02:11:42 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I heard about all that but I didnt know they scrapped Monster X due to the engine being unable to handle it all.

ClanWarrior [2012-04-28 15:31:17 +0000 UTC]

They scrapped
Fire Lion,Lightning Bug,The Visitor (all 3 were beaten by Obsidius in a monster poll)
King Kong,Mechani-Kong (both due to legal problems)
Zilla,Monster X,Gabara,Gorosaurus,Kameobas (all 5 due to lack of popularity)
Kamacuras (eliminated in planning stages)
Kumonga (same reason as Kamacuras)
Hedorah (wouldn't work the way they wanted with the current technology)
Bagan (considered but not seriously)
Super Mechagodzilla (replaced by Mechagodzilla 2)
Zone Fighter (game was too far in production to include him)
Gamera,Gyaos,Iris (all 3 due to between Toho and Daiei)
Ebirah (scrapped in favor of Battra)
Minilla (due to small size)
Big G 2004 (there were 3 Godzillas already)
Big G 2002 (due to familiarity to Godzilla 2000)

Oh & they scrapped Arenas too:
LA (a frozen wasteland) (replaced by Sydney due to not many areas outside US)
Toronto (in the middle of a hurricane) (game was too far in production)
Moscow (covered by sand storms) (same reason as Toronto)
Paris (covered by plant life due to Biollante) (Biollante moved to Tokyo)
Cairo (in the mid. of a powerful thunderstorm) (considered in early stages)

Man Hedorah is to the Godzilla fanbase what Rain is to the Mortal Kombat fanbase, I swear. Everyone, with a few exceptions, wants him in a game. Hell I was let down that I couldn't play as my favorite toxic monster.

As for factions, he's kinda both an alien and mutant. Yeah he came from space but he also feeds and mutates off Earth's waste so he can fit in either one, much how Megalon is tecnicly an Earth Defender but he works with Aliens or how Spacegodzilla is both an alien and mutant. Personally I would have put him with the Mutants but whatever, he fits just as well with the Aliens.
