Description Hedorah's bio card.

The third entry in a Godzilla fighting game series, and still no Hedorah? Really? I just don't get it. It's bad enough that the infamous Smog Monster wasn't in the second game ("Save The Earth" - y'know, THE THEME SONG OF HEDORAH'S MOVIE), but not even the third? And Varan was? VARAN? I just don't see how they managed that. And then all we get is some throw-away line about Hedorah being too difficult to make look right and needing special programming. (Despite the fact that they managed Biollante's similarly-textured plant body, Godzilla's scales, Mechagodzilla's rusty armor, Mechagodzilla-II's shiney armor, King Caesar's fur, Obsidius' rock body... but making Hedorah look slimey was just NO-CAN-DO, apparently...)

Seriously, if we somehow manage to get a "Godzilla 4"... Hedorah must be the first character announced. Not the first new character, the first character period (after Godzilla 2000, of course).

they were planning on making Hedorah part of Unleashed but they couldn't due to budget cuts but in 2012 their will be a new game with ALL the monsters and they team up

I agree, man. I mean, they can get a limited creature like Biollante in the game. Why not Hedorah.

I think aother good question is why did they have to make two new monsters when they had other unused monsters already there, like Ebirah, Hedorah again or even Bagan? Seems a bit silly to me.

I would put him in the mutants faction, but he is like SpaceGodzilla, so maybe he can be from the "aliens", also, the aliens needs more mosnters...

Finally!! Someone who shares my same opinion that Hedorah is an ALIEN not a MUTANT. This is boss right here.

The main reason for many of the monsters not making it into Unleashed was because Toho was making Atari pay for every monster they used. It was too expensive to get the rights for all of the monsters that could have been playable.

Which really sucks in the case of Zilla. I really wanted him to be in it, and Atari was even being really hush-hush about Zilla during the production of the game. Then it turned out he wasn't in it.

But Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla 1954 got in... as VS Mode-only clones of Godzilla 2000 =/

They scrapped Zilla b/c he was unpopular among fans......& probably because they have 3 Godzillas already

Godzilla 90's and Godzilla 1954 could have been left out and replaced with other monsters. Apparently several other monsters were also considered but ultimately left out, including Monster X/Keizer Ghidorah, Bagan, Hedorah (whose sludgy body and transformations were too much for the Wii to handle), and King Kong (who was dropped because Universal was asking a whopping $1 million for his use while Toho only charged $25,000 a monster).

Make no mistake, I love all forms of the Big G, but I'd have preferred other monsters get in instead of G times three (the MechaGodzillas are different unique characters, as well as King Ghidorah and Mecha-King Ghidorah).

You know, Hedorah was considered for Godzilla Unleashed, but his character was scrapped due to his blobby form took to much data to make and his movements didn't follow the game's engine...or something like that.

A lot of good monsters didn't make it into this game.

Tis' a shame that they didn't include Hedorah in the game. Would've been fun playing as him.

Huh, I dunno about him being an alien though, I figure he would've fitted more in the mutant section.

I wish Hedorah was in GU. Hopefully G4 will include him. He'd look great on the 360 or even the PS3!

I agree that no Hedorah = fail, but I think you put him in the wrong faction.

How so? He's an alien monster. If Megalon can be an "Alien," surely Hedorah - who actually is one - can.

If you listen in the movie, they say hedorah was an alien spore that lacthed on a meteor from another galaxy.

He was created on Earth by pollution, so that makes him a mutant doesn't it?

They did not add hedorah in because they did not have a good shading tool to get him to look good....

Stardroid-Mercury In reply to Dinosaur7 [2009-09-25 00:06:31 +0000 UTC]

In GAM he was really just a floating triangular shape that spewed toxic crap down on you. I am guessing they wanted a slimey look for G:U hedorah. Perhaps they will make a better game in the future?

...shading? That was it? God, that makes it even worse.

Of course, my original point still stands. How can they shade all those monsters with all those different body textures (especially Biollante's, which isn't all that different from Hedorah's), and they couldn't do Hedorah?

Stardroid-Mercury In reply to MegaZeo [2008-08-23 07:23:46 +0000 UTC]

Dunno, maybe it was just an excuse? And as unfortunate as it is, Unleashed did kind of dissapoint in some areas. Hopefully in the future after the release of the new Godzilla movie, they will release a new game as well that will make people forget.

And I want a Biollante that actually looks like her, and is not just all talk! Plus, i'd love to hear the classic hiss that the original Mechagodzilla makes :S
