I drew this for a friend on tumblr. It's Julius Caesar, eating breakfast. I know Romans didn't use forks, but I still thought it would be funny.He watches the rivers of floating blood and the towering heaps of corpses, equal to hills, he looks at the heaps that lie (on the battlefield), flowing away in decay, and he counts the people of (Pompey) the Great. Food is preparated at the very place where he recognizes the faces and the look of those lying there. He is happy not to see the soil of Emanthia (=Thessaly = Pharsalos) and he feasts his eyes on the field covered by slaughter. He knows that his fortune and his gods are in this blood.
