Oh nice! How is the fantasy illustration class? I was thinking about taking it in the Fall.

Learning a lot in terms of how a successful illustration looks like. It can be frustrating because it is class critique and your class can be super lame. I'm beginning to have to email my teacher for more feedback. Right now my issue is that he gives the critique I need AFTER I turn in homework and get a not so good grade, instead of giving strong critique earlier when I asked for it. (Grumble).
Definitely worth taking, it's a fantastic portfolio builder.

Now that that's out of the way...
I really like the pallete! When you think 'earth monster' you don't usually think purple and I think it looks absolutely fantastic here! As usual the textures are jaw droppingly gorgeous and I love the motion implied by the dust he's kicking up. :3

The idea behind this guy was that he had some kind of corruption poured on some earth and that's where he came from. I liked the idea of the tentacles looking a little unnatural since he's corrupted earth. This actually didn't get too great of reviews so I'm in the process of touching it up and fixing things on it.

Oddly enough, the style reminds me of how you paint in watercolour.
