Thats part of the armor pad thats on the side of her calf, it just looks so similar to the skin tone that it...well...actually looks demented now that I look at it. GREAT. NOW I CANNOT UNSEE.

uuwhaa thanks dear! I'm still trying to find my own drawing style, I swear it is ever changing depending on my influences and what I'm going for at the moment. But all in all most people find a 'comfortable' style of their own after many years of drawing and trying new techniques. Try drawing things you wouldn't normally draw or mimicking another artists style just to test yourself. The more you challenge the more you'll step back and realize you've changed. Artists pic up little things, lines, shading styles etc from other artists and from experimenting. Once you put it all together it starts to morph into your own little creature.

Awesome. Love the style of it and the coloring job. The only thing I might suggest is she seems quite clean and bright for post apocalyptic, despite the few splatters on her face and her legs. Perhaps that's just my personal views, but it doesn't radiate the feel of what it would be like to me. But apart from that, I think it's a great piece.

Totally understandable. Kinda hard to describe...from what I know of the story this is her 'pre-infected' at the very start of the world over. So...the employer wanted some of the characters to look fairly clean as the areas they live have yet to be overtaken. Others are messed right up. At the end of the story this character here becomes infected herself so her design would become more and more distressed as the story goes on.
Totally understand what you're saying though, when it comes to the other characters its nothing but messed up clothing, bits and pieces of armor and packs/straps. Much grittier.
