Piper is a very chipper young squirrel, and it's almost impossible to get her down. Always running around with a big smile on her face hoping to spread smiles onto others as well, she strives to help others always look on the bright side of life as she does. After all, what's the point of being gloomy when there's so much good in the world?

That being said, this eternal happiness can also be her downfall. Piper has almost no sense of danger and will walk right into it very easily. In situations that require more sympathy rather than optimism, she can quite possibly make things worse depending on the person as she'd just try getting them to smile rather than telling them 'it's okay to cry'.

She's also dumb as a sack of rocks.

History:

What Piper's family lacked in funds, they made up for in love. Their household of a mother, father, and an only child with very little wealth to their name all had the same saying in life: Look on the bright side of life.

Young Piper didn't get to experience many things growing up. Her family couldn't afford to go to movies, or go to nice restaurants, heck Piper hardly had many toys other than her parent's hand-me-downs. But she didn't mind. She would run around their little run-down town and make her own fun. Climbing trees, burying her toys and then going out to find them a week later, making friends with the other kids in town... there was no limit to what the little squirrel would do to entertain herself. Was she curious about those fancier things wealthier people got to do? Yeah, of course. But she didn't let it bum her out.

There was one big, special event Piper could always look forward to though. Local parades. People dancing and laughing, marching bands playing fun and loud music through the streets, anyone could join in the fun! Her interest in parades and marching bands formed at a young age, and she would regularly walk around town with makeshift drums made from pots and pans, drumming on them and calling for other children to follow along. And follow along they did, bringing smiles to everyone they passed by. Those smiles stuck with young Piper, and as she grew older she wanted to continue bringing joy to people. But how? Why, by bringing friendship, parades, and marching bands to other towns of course! And so, once she was old enough, Piper moved away from home with a dream of spreading smiles far and wide, starting in the little up-and-coming town of Lilypad. She still keeps in contact with her parents regularly, and they frequently visit her despite the long trip.

Other:

* She smells like popcorn due to how often she snacks on it.
* Piper got her marching band outfit from a costume store on the way to Lilypad with what little money she had on hand, dumping the old ragged clothing she was wearing beforehand. She's not actually part of a marching band. At least, not yet.
* She plays trumpet. ...she's not very good at it though. She's much better at marching drums.
* She regularly buries her belongings for safekeeping only to forget where she buried them and having to seek them out (or occasionally she just forgets about it completely and never goes looking). If you ever dig up a random toy tamberine, or a children's picture book, or even a bag of cookies, chances are it belongs to Piper.
* She has an insatiable instinct to pull out and rip up every tissue every time she sees a tissue box. She tries to fight the urge but it's probably best to keep them out of her reach if you don't want shredded tissue everywhere.
* She tends to chew on things like straws, plastic forks, and the rims of plastic cups.
* She gives great hugs.
* She's a lesbian
* She got to move to Lilypad thanks to a charity online that helps less fortunate people move to their dream town. An anonymous local from Lilypad bought the ticket for her. (Fun fact the anonymous local was my other villager Rosy. Piper doesn't know this though.)
