Description Original shots taken by Mike Vickers, post-processing by mel ell
This was my first time editing photos in Photoshop and it was a whole of fun. I learned about noise reduction and sharpening and changing light colors. They might be a bit overworked but I had a great time working on them and taking them with Mike. Hope you guys like them too!

The costume includes color changing LEDs on the spine and front that are controlled by an Arduino microcontroller and onboard RGB controllers (respectively), and is powered by 16 AA batteries, two 2032 coin cells, and one 9-volt battery. In total there's more than 70 LED's on the entire costume

Sounds like there was a LOT of dedication put into the costume and the photo shoot. Excellent and beautiful craftsmanship!

This is spectacular! I'm working on my own cyber-punk cos-play. I've been designing a head piece that is similar as a "targeting assistance array".

How'd you get the head piece to stay put?

Difference between men and women: My mother and I are heatedly debating which pictures were better until we finally understood that we had different motivations: She was saying "This girl is so beautiful, but I can't see her face in that picture. That stuff is distracting me. In the other picture my attention is drawn to her face." I was saying "Distraction? Your attention is supposed to be drawn to it! I said this is a better picture to see her costume! The lighting is better so you can see it's purple and not black, and the blade and the boots are in view." She replies,"Oh, so that's the problem. I said I'm trying to see the girl, lol."

So yes, you are very beautiful, but clearly one of us has a greater passion for cosplay than the other. You are so creative, and I'm very impressed by the end result! The whole project is as beautiful as you are, Mel!

Thanks! Mike and I shot this one right next to a big fountain outside the convention hall, I love the texture and lighting it gives to the background

Thanks dude! I had a great time building/designing it and I'm so glad with how it came out. This set was extra-fun to work on since Mike let me play with the post-processing ;D
