Description
So, I painted some knock off Doc MartensNever the less, I got bored, used acrylics to destroy some plain black boots! I still need to spray them with transparent acrylic spray to seal them off from water damage (not that I will wear these often at all!)
I love skulls, mushrooms and psychedelic stuffs.
Will probably fiddle with the design a bit after this...the close ups show many mistakes

Awwah! They are easily done! Just gotta have the confidence to paint straight onto the boot!!!
These are a size 39...so reasonably big haha!

These are TOTALLY AWESOME!!!~ I want a pair now. lol
It's great how the colors of the paint pop out! I tried painting boots before but I could never get the color to show up like this. Haha.
The skulls and swirls definitely make a trippy combination!

Awwah, thankies! :3 They were extremely fun to paint - what paint did you use? I used acrylic but first took the sheen off the boots with methylated spirits (paint thinner basically) so that it creates a blank, paintable canvas where the paint will stay and show up (I would imagine.

Ahhh I see. I used acryllic paint but I think the paint thinner you used for the boots is what made the difference. 8/ I didn't use anything for the sheen on the shoes rofl
VERY smart move on your part
And yeh the looked like lots of fun to do

Awwah, thank you!!! I hope to do some more soon They're really easy to do!
I'll add a how to in a little bit, because the shine of the boots had to be taken off...or the paint won't stay/work as well!

I wish I had enough skill to do that! What size do you wear?

I wear a size 39 (size 7 shoe in UK)
I think that these are 7's, although a little lose on me XD They're actually quite new, hardly been worn, so the leather hasn't been tarnished much...its usually better to paint on shoes that have been worn in, because the bend is already there....not sure if the paint will crack or not....it shouldn't do :/

Hopefully they don't crack! It'd be a shame to see that artwork get messed up!

It should be okay...I read about the place, acrylics seemed to be the best paint to use...not to mention the only paint I had! Hahaha!
